Darkness and Light

Rey's POV:

The bright lights of the room, nearly blinded me for a second. I had never seen such an shiny interior. Ben made same reaction when he entered inside too. He nearly covered his eyes to protect them from the light, but in a moment everything was gone, and the room seemed back to normal. It is a separate space with only one bed. Near the bed stands a night table with few flowers that give the only colorings in the place. They must be from Luke. He knows how much his sister loves lilies. The instant she spot us moving forward, a warm and loving smile escaped her lips. Her glare immediately fell to our hands, and she signed.

We both sat on the two chairs, on the either side of the bed. We are both holding her hands, feeling all the vibes she sends us. For a bare moment no one spoke, we left the emotions speak first. The room is silent, but at the same time it feels screaming loud. We waited for this moment long enough. I took a deep breath and looked her in the deep chocolate eyes.

"We are so happy that you are doing well. I don't know what would have happened if you were gone. I don't want to think of such dark scenarios." I held her soft hand even tighter, keeping back the tears that form in my eyes. If she sees that we are sad, her cheerful mood may sadden.

"No, honey, don't worry. I will not surrender that easily to the enemy. They want me dead, he wanted that for years, and still I managed to succeed, to win. " She stooped, to take another piece of air and continued "I am only happy that you are safe. I can only imagine what could have happened to Ben if you were injured, or worse. "

"It is all in the past now, we need to look in the future." Ben added, and I nod, completely agreeing with his words.

"Yes the future. The unexpected, the unknown." Leia muttered softly.

"What do you think will happen now? Nothing is over, we still have a battle to win." I mentioned. Both Ben and Leia turned to me, concern and worry on their faces.

"We need to think for the good of the galaxy, for the good of the other realms near us." Ben answered first, his voice deep and silent.

"Yes, my son. I have been alive long enough to see how people changed, how politics changed. I have seen countless forms of evil, and equal amount of good. Most of the changes were really close to me...they were in...my...family." I looked at Ben whose skin became pale, from his mothers words. I had never seen him so ashamed...so scared. I know he can't forgive himself, but still he tries. I sent him a reassuring smile, to lighten up his mood. It seems to work. "But, everything ended for the good. My father came back, and so did you, Ben, and I can't be happier and prouder. You found love, and I am grateful that such a lovely lady as Rey will become my daughter in law."

"Thank you. I am flattered." I even blushed at her comment, and I never blush. Ok, maybe sometimes.

"But as I said, all of this changes and events I think occurred because of one reason. One and only reason." Both Ben and I turned into ears. "It is because of the darkness and the light."

"What do you mean?" I asked, not understanding her words entirely. There must be a hidden meaning behind this speech.

"I am saying that as long as only light and dark exist, the universe will stay the same. There will be constant battles between the two, constant changes, sorrow, war and countless lives will be destroyed. Before you alter this regime, you need to understand that nothing is entirely good, or evil. You were both seduced by both sides, and still you chose to fight for the better. It is nature, every living being is both good and evil, only the measurement makes the difference. Long ago, there was a prophecy that stated that there will be a child, strong with the force, stronger than any living Jedi, that will bring balance. That child was my father, but this difference of sides was the thing that destroyed him. I think that the universe once again found a way to restore itself. It is between you Rey and you Ben. You are both the light and the dark, you are the true balance. "

"I understand, you say that the grey is the key to the balance?" Ben seems more exited than ever. I am in total shock, but she is right, it is the only way.

"Yes, the bond was not formed without a reason, the prophecy is now referring to you." we nod, silence once again covered the room...
