Everything will be alright

Ben's POV:

In that single second, I never even felt what I did first. My impulses told me to jump protectively, I was not going to let anything happen to them. The stormtroopers were fast, but my team was faster. They managed to grab hold on their weapon and fire first. One deadly shot nearly hit Finn in the forehead, but I was fast enough to discard it with my lightsaber. He just froze in that moment, stunned at my sudden reaction. Was he thinking that I would let him die, or is he just curious of my sudden pull to help him. Either way, he nod respectfully, pure sincere in his eyes, still shocked. I signed back and approached Rey who is now fighting a female stormtrooper with a blaster in her hand, Rey became really good with her lightsaber, so there wasn't much space for my help. I prepared my mind for thinking, for our way out. I glanced down at Snoke, his body motionless, cold as ice. I smirked, he deserved it, his end should have been earlier. I kneeled and touched his neck searching for pulse. There isn't any. Good, so finally he is dead. I rose and opened the gigantic metal door. It lead to a light hallway with few windows on the sides. So it is day, because of this dark hole I lost sense in time.

This is good. It gives me hope, something that I truly need in the moment.

"Guys, this way." I called them, and in matter of seconds they were just behind me. Rey was the first to come. I turned and hugged her. Warm blood spread across my cold body, she is soft and comforting. I tried to contain my tears from falling, she did all of this for me, she put her own life in danger. She is the most selfless person I have ever met. My head is buried in her neck, my fingers gently caressing her soft hair. The smell of wood and nature hit my nose strings.

"I could have lost you today, multiple times, and if something happened to you I could have never forgiven myself. They knew you are my weakness, my strength, my past and my future. You are my everything." I laid a gentle kiss on her soft neck, sending all the little sparks throw her veins. A soft moan escaped her rose lips. I smiled, she feels the same for me.

"And you are my everything, too." She pulled away to look me in the eyes. Her majestic hazel eyes glittering in the sunlight. I wanted this moment to last forever, just her and me but this is not the right time.

"Follow me, and let's get out of here." I shouted and went down the bright path, Rey by my side. She squeezed my hand tightly.

"I will never let you go, never again." My heart skipped a beat, this woman knows how to make a man feel better. I held her tightly.

"And I will never let you go too, I promise." I assured her. She giggled her voice too cute to bare. I hardly resisted the pull to kiss her passionately on those soft lips. The others were just behind us keeping up with our fast walking. It is matter of minutes till we get out of here, and find ourselves in the icy forest again. I believe the millennium falcon is still there. Here the generals only care that it is on the planet. Few armed guards rushed in the place and started shooting at us. We replied back easily, they are not a huge threat anymore. I am more worried for the generals and commanders, they are more advanced in their fighting skills. Just then there is the exit.

Finally, we found a way. In moments I really felt like it was all over, like we were lost, for good. Truly things happen when you believe. I glimpsed at my mother, who silently rested in Poe's arms. Sadness filled every fibber in my body. She didn't deserve any of this, not because of me. I raised to touch her forehead, she is still pale and it worries me. She is tough, she will live, she will survive to see the light taking over again, she must.

"Ben, she is strong, one of the strongest and most aspiring women I have ever met, she will remain alive. I strongly believe, she never failed us. " I nod in agreement. We are now in front of the back door. Rey opened it and ran first in the snow. The chilly weather is only and obstacle, in this moment. They will see footprints in the snow, sooner or later.

I looked up and there in the distance stood our ship, in all its glory. Never have I been more happier to see it more than now.

"To the Millennium Falcon." Rey cried, and started running to the ship. She is fast. She got in first, I followed second and the others came just in time. She entered the pilot cabin and started the engines. In blink of an eye we were off, flying in the distance, far away from here.

"Everything will be alright." She mumbled. I sat next to her, in the copilot seat and gently took her hand into mine.

"Yes, I believe so." I send her an assuring smile, letting my body relax next to hers.
