16. Zack's Birthday

Chapter 16: Zack's Birthday

December 17, 2013, Tuesday

*~~Zack's P.O.V.~~*

It's my birthday but here I am, in the cemetery. Matt, Juliet, and Maddie gave me one heck of a breakfast, I love those guys. Why am I in the cemetery, well I always visit my parents when its my birthday. I believe during birthdays, the person shouldn't be cherished, their parents should. When my parents were alive, I always woke up and gave them kisses in the cheek on my birthday. I always bought them gifts with my allowance money. The presents weren't extragravent, I mean hey, I was only a kid. If they were still alive, I'd be giving them better presents...but you never know what happens. That probably sounds weird I mean after all, I'm the one that gave Juliet a necklace, but when else would I have been able to give it to her?

I kneel down to my parents grave as I place flowers for my mom and dad. My dad always was a white rose person and my mom was a red rose person. I mixed sympathy flowers in the bouquet, I always have been doing that. When I was thirteen, my aunt told my sister and me that sympathy flowers were appropriate for the dead. But why not mix roses with the sympathy flowers? They look better that way, and with the florist's help, I didn't get pricked by thorns too much. I smiled and started talking to my parents.

*~~Juliet's P.O.V.~~*

Zack hasn't been too happy about his birthday, he seemed to be in a rush during college. He even went home before me, I'm worried. I'd been out for like three hours, we're going to have a mini-party for Zack, and his sister and Blaze are coming. My brother and Gisselle are also coming. We invited Lisa, but she won't be able to make it. I go to my bedroom and find a note:
I'm in the cemetery. If you need me, here's the directions.
Love, Zack G.

Cemetery? What business does he have with the cemetery? Whatever I'm still going. I grab my keys and drive to the cemetery.

After 10 minutes, I finally found Zack, he's kneeling down and talking to two tombs. Henry Graves and Linda Graves. Oh he's talking to his parents. I decide to sit a tomb away from him, I know it's bad to eavesdrop, but I don't want to ruin his moment.

"Mother, I'm so sorry, remember that day when you wanted to feed me? But I refused because I wanted to show you what a 'big boy' I was. I really regret it, if I knew that our time would be so short, I would've never refused to be fed by your hand. And father, I still miss the days you would take me fishing. They were always fun, even when I accidentally made you drop that one fish."

Zack laughed softly, then continued, "Remember when I told you that Carolyn married Blaze? Well now she's four months pregnant. I'm really happy for her, Blaze is a good brother-in-law. You could tell he cherishes big sis a lot, whenever I visit them, Blaze's eyes are always filled with adoration for her."

Zack's smile grew as he said the next part, "You know I met a girl in college. She's the sweetest girl you two will ever meet. She has the most beautiful reddish-brown hair. Her strands are so silky, my fingers would get lost stroking each strand. And her eyes, they're such a beautiful shade of emerald, I find myself getting lost in them often." Oh my god, I'm so embarrassed, even if his parents are dead. I shift a bit, oh shoot, Zack turned his head and saw me. I bet my face is a tomato right now, Zack cocks his head to the side and smiles. He pats the ground next to him, and I move to sit next to him.

"This is Juliet Annabel, the girl I was just talking about. She's my girlfriend. I know you two would love her, just like you two would've loved Blaze and big sis's new baby. Well I've been here for three hours. I'll see you two the next time I visit, bye mother, bye father." Zack gets up, then helps me get up. I think my interest for this man has now gone way up. Why is he so adorable? I send a text to Maddie:
JulesCandyLovr: r u guys ready?
MadsCandyLovr: yep, anytime now, we're already growing cob webs. It's already 6:50!
JulesCandyLovr: ok, ok, we're comin! dnt get ur panties in a twist!

We get into my car, didn't Zack bring his car?
"Zack where's your car?"

"I rode a cab here. Remember we went to school in Maddie's car?"

"Oh I see. Ok let's go, birthday boy!" I grinned at him. And he gave me a kiss on the cheek.

I unlocked the door, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZACK!"

Zack looked shock, but then a grin settled in his face. He turned to me, "Did you plan this?" I nod and get a kiss on the lips. Hell yeah!

"Alright break it up, let's have fun!" Matt says rubbing his hands together and slapping Zack's butt.
Zack just shakes his head and gives him a hug. I laugh at Matt's expression, he's shocked that Zack is hugging him. It's usually Matt chasing Zack to give him a hug.

Unforgiven by Blood On the Dance Floor starts playing and Maddie shouts, "HELL YEAH! A BIRTHDAY NEEDS MUSIC!" Then she pulls Matt and dances with him. Oliver starts dancing with Gisselle, too. Blaze sways with Carolyn, as she is pregnant. Of course, Zack and I start swaying, too. Your Guardian Angel by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus starts playing, Zack grins at me as this is our song. It's my ringtone for him, too, hehe.

After our mini-dance party, Zack cuts the cake, blowing out all the candles. Matt puts frosting on his face. After a few minutes, everyone had frosting on their faces, even Carolyn and Blaze. Matt and Zack looked like Santa Claus. They had to wash their hair and change shirts. When Zack and Matt came out of the bathroom, we started eating cake. We were in the living room, we only had two couches. Blaze and Carolyn took one, Oliver and Gisselle took the other. Zack and I were on the recliner with me on his lap. Matt and Maddie were on the floor, it was their choice. It was quiet until Matt broke it, of course leave it to Matt to break the silence.

"Where do all virgins live?"

Zack groaned, "Can we not."

Of course Matt ignored him, "Virginia~!"

Carolyn started laughing really hard. We all looked at her and Matt said, "It's not that funny."

Carolyn stopped laughing, "Oh really? Stupid hormones!" Blaze laughed and held her close to him.
Matt took another bite of the cake and said, "Ok, ok, I got a better joke. It's a yo-mama joke."

Zack sighed and buried his head in neck. That brought a smile to my face. Oliver was the one that encouraged Matt to say his yo-mama joke.

Matt grinned, "Yo mama is so old, she met all the presidents and f*c--" Zack lifted his head from my neck and cut him off, "Alright! Leave it to 'met all the presidents' and the joke will be decent." I started laughing, I love how they bicker. It's so adorable! I kissed Zack's cheek. Then I got an idea,
"Why don't we play truth or dare? Let's have a vote." Luckily, everyone raised their hands.

The party ended when it was 9. Right now, I'm cuddled against Zack's bare chest.

"Thank you, Juliet, this has been one of the best birthdays ever. Sweet dreams." He kisses my lips and falls asleep.

Even though he fell asleep, I replied, "Sweet dreams, Zack." and sleep took me, too.
