34. Welcome Back

Chapter 34: Welcome Back

December 4, 2014 Thursday

*~~Zack's P.O.V.~~*

I come home and toss my backpack on the couch and head to the kitchen. Stupid college, they said we can't change classes once we add them. In three of my classes, the teacher said that we can't change seats, ever. This is bad, real bad, I mean what if I lose control and ugh. I pour some cereal in a bowl, yes I'm going to eat cereal, without milk, at 3:50 PM. I grab a handful and right when I was going to eat them, Matt, (out of no where!), slaps my Trix out of my hand.

I glare at him, "What the hell man, I cleaned my kitchen yesterday!"

Matt looks at the cereal, "Oh my bad, I thought they were sleeping pills. Sorry, I'll pick them up." Then Matt hugs me, "I'm back~ from my mini vacation, did you miss me.

I laugh, "Yeah I'm glad you're back, but you should've just stayed there. No I'm kidding, and don't worry about sleeping pills or broken razors or blades. That drawer has been confiscated and thrown away by Carolyn and Lisa. As for my sleeping pills, I only have two pills in my reach, but the whole bottle is with Lisa. I have to go to her house to get more. I guess that's why they wanted me to go to my beach cabin, so they can have their 'search party' in my house."

Matt finished picking up the Trix and threw them away, "I'm glad they did, or else I would be moving in with you and keeping both eyes on you, forever. Anyway, want to give me a ride to Maddie's place? Ava has my car or I wouldn't have asked you. Please Zack?"

I groaned but said yes, I will see Juliet at college, I should try to get used to it. I take my bowl of cereal and keys, and walk out with Matt.

Matt jumps out of my car and sings his way to the girls' door,
"Chop, chop, chop you up.
Ima monster hah hah hah
Eat you like a cannibal,
Spit you out like an animal."

Maddie opens the door, "Staph, sing something else."

Matt chuckles, "Mi lady isn't a fan of Blood on the Dance Floor, I see. Zack get your butt over here, you're not sitting in that car forever."

I grumbled under my breath, but made my way to the door. Maddie smiled at me, "Hey Zack, and no Matt I do like BOTDF, but just not that song, I hate cannibalism."

"But it's just a son--" Maddie cut off Matt, "Yeah, yeah, I know it's just a song. But all the slicing, dicing, chopping and all make my stomach churn."

Matt and I laughed, Maddie was always unique in her own way. And that's a good thing. But my laughter was cut short, when I saw Juliet with a shawl around her, sneezing. Funny how even in that state, she still looked beautiful.

Matt spoke for me, "Hey Jules, you still aren't feeling better?" Juliet smiled and shook her head, but when her eyes met mine, her smile faded. A sigh escaped my mouth as Maddie told us to come in. I was trying to mumble an excuse but Matt dragged me with him. Matt went with Maddie to help her with something, unpack I guess. Juliet and I just stood there, staring at each other.

I scratched the back of my head and decided to speak, "Did you eat something?" Juliet shook her head and sneezed. She almost fell, but I caught her just in time. Juliet mumbled a 'sorry' as she leaned into me, this is bad, her body is burning up. I decided to carry her in my arms, even though she was telling me to put her down and flailing her arms around.

I finally laid her on her bed and said, "You may not care about me, but I still do. I'm going to pour cold water on your head, no I'll ask Maddie to do it. I'll make you some soup and I'll ask Matt to make you tea." And with that I walked out of her room.

*~~Juliet's P.O.V.~~*

I was surprised at Zack's outburst, I mean he was so cold at the beach, and now he's being so gentle. Ugh, the way he carried me...my favorite princess lift...I could die in those arms. Maddie comes in with a bucket and mug and pours water on my head.

"Woman you should get back with that boy." Maddie said running her hands through my hair.

I sighed and decided to tell her my feelings, "You know before Zack left this room, he said 'You may not care about me, but I still do.' I was shocked at Zack's words. He's wrong though, I still love him." Maddie was silent and continued pouring cold water. I crossed my arms over my head, "This is bad. Oliver texted me today that the message he sent me was for Jules, his best friend, and that I shouldn't break up with Zack. He said there was love in Zack's eyes and I would be a fool to break up with him. Oh he's right, though, Maddie, I'm such a fool. I miss Zack so much, I want his arms around me again."

After a minute or two of silence, Maddie got up and dried her hands with a towel. Then helped my dry my hair, "Well girlie, why don't you just ask him to come back?"

I took the towel away from her, "No! That's something I can't do. Who knows, Zack said he cared not loved."

Maddie shook her head and left the room, muttering, "You two are idiots, go to sleep missy. I'll give you one of my yogurt, only the peach flavor!"

I was just about to fall asleep, when Zack woke me up.

He had soup in his hands, "You should drink up, while it's warm. It'll be bad if it gets cold, now open up."

I blushed, good thing it's not noticeable since my face is already burning up, "You're...uh...you're going to....um....feed me?"

Zack didn't even blink, "Yes? Maddie and Matt left...you want me to call your neighbor? I mean if you fed yourself, you'd drop it on yourself."

I blushed harder, but opened my mouth and tasted the warm soup. Like last time, Zack's soup tastes delicious, but this time I won't tell him.

I drank some tea after I finished the soup, Zack put a cold cloth on my forehead, then told me to sleep, which I gladly did.

I woke up to see a sleeping Zack, beside me. He was sitting on his chair, just his face on my bed. I sat up and watched Zack. Oh he looked so beautiful and peaceful like he usually did. I reached out my hand and ran it through his hair, so soft. I quickly took my hand back, when I felt him stir, but then he fell back asleep. I let out a sigh of relief and went to use the bathroom.

*~~Zack's P.O.V.~~*

I woke up and couldn't find Juliet. Where'd she go? And when did I fall asleep? It's 8 PM, so late already? I was about to call out Juliet's name, when she came out of the bathroom.

I got up and placed my hand on her forehead, "How's your fever? It seems to be better."

Juliet smiled, the first smile since our breakup, "I'm good, thanks to you. Thank you very much."

I nodded and kissed her forehead, "Take care of yourself, angel." And I left her house.

*~~Juliet's P.O.V.~~*

After Zack left, I placed two fingers on my forehead, if only it was my lips. Quit dreaming, you should be grateful he even kissed you. After all the nonsense you blabbed on him, when he was truly innocent. You don't deserve him, and he even called you angel.

Maddie entered my room, "Hey girlie, sorry I was out. Zack was taking care of you and Matt wanted to take me out, so yeah. How are you feeling now?"

I smiled, "A lot better."

Maddie wiggled her eyebrows, "Are you guys an item again?"

My smile faded quickly and tears sprung my eyes, Maddie gasped and cradled me. I was grateful for the comfort, I wrapped my arms around her and sobbed, "I want him back, Maddison, I'm such a fool."

Maddison didn't say anything, just consoled me the whole night. She even let me sleep in her room with her, again. I wonder if Zack is sleeping peacefully...
