Maddison's POV
Its felt like years since Cameron has been gone, but it's only been a month. I'm sick of this empty feeling inside. Jack currently lives with me because he is scared I'll do some dumb shit. I know he means well, but I'm almost 21. He dumped Maddison. Which I think is bullshit. I'm nothing compared to her, she is flawless. I sit on the couch waiting patiently for Jack to come home, he said 'we should talk.' What ever that means.
The door slowly opens, and his figure walks in. He gently sits down sit to me. It was quite. But not the comfortable quite Cameron and I had. Like the air was filled with lingering unsaid things. It was empty, but I knew by the silence it was bad news.
"I talked to your mom Maddie." He finally says.
I nod to tell him I'm listening.
"You're not healthy Maddison." He pauses. His fingers are fiddling with each other.
"You go to work, come home, and just sit here. You're waiting, for him." He says slowly.
"It not good you being here waiting. He is gone love. I'm sorry. As I was saying I talked to your mom. And she thinks the best thing for you to do is move. Away from here. It's for the best." He looks at me. My eyebrows are frowned.
"Where to?" I question.
"New York?" He asks.
New York. Huh.
"Who would be coming?" I ask.
"No one. You need to start fresh." He says.
"What the fuck Jack! You can't just go talk to my mom, and not tell me what's going on!" I yell at him.
"Maddison is for you, all this shit I did and is doing is for your ass. You're not okay, stop acting like you are."
I get up and storm to my room. He's not my dad. I started crying, and my breathing rhythm increased. He was right. I'm not crying for moving, I'm crying because he is right. Every word he said was nothing but the truth. I lay in my bed thinking about everything he said. He was right. I need to get out of here.
I finally get up and walk to the living room.
"Jack I'll go." I say.
He gets up and walks toward me.
"I knew you would."
