Josh's pov;
Me and Mia have been running all day, looking for her dad.
'Mia, lets rest.' I mind-link her.
She stops running and walks over to a puddle to drink. I do the same.
When we finish drinking Mia sits down and whimpers. I walk next to her and rub my head on her neck.
'We'll find him..' I tell her. She sighs and lies down.
We rest for 20 minutes. I was about to fall asleep on Mia's neck when I feel her get up. 'I smell something different josh..' I get up and sniff around, she was right. There was a new smell that was getting stronger by the second.
'Hide your scent and go behind those bushes.' I tell her, she nods and does as she was told.
I crouch down, waiting for a wolf to come out so I could kill it.
A small bundle of fur runs through the bushes.
I growl and run at it. It whimpers and puts his tail between his legs. It was a baby werewolf.
I get off him and stare.
'Uhh.. Mia, there's a baby wolf here..'
Mia was by my side in seconds. She shifts and picks up the baby, "Well, hello there." She says, smiling and rubbing the wolves cheek. He growls at her. I shift and stare at them. "Shift." I command the wolf.
He shifts and there, in my mates arms was a small boy. He had brown hair and green eyes. He looked so skinny, like he didn't eat for weeks.
"Who are you?" I ask him. His eyes start to water, "I.. I don't know!" He says, tears streaming down his face.
"Well, where's your parents?" Mia asks him, being his small body closer to hers.
"Some wolves killed them and.. They took my sister!" He shouts. I could tell Mia's heart broke. She looked up at me with sad eyes. "Don't worry.. Me and josh will take care of you, isn't that right baby?" She says, looking up at me. I stare at her, surprised.
Is she telling me were gonna adopt this wolf?!
"I'll think about it." I tell her, walking towards the bushes. I look up at the sky. It was getting dark.. We should catch some food and sleep..
"Mia, stay with the wolf, I'm gonna go hunting." She nods and shifts along with the wolf. They snuggle together and lie down.
'You better not get used to this.' I mind link her. She laughs, 'I already am.'
Fuck..
I start running around the woods, ahh finally.. A rabbit. I would feel guilty killing a rabbit but, hey, it's food! Plus, my wolf loves it.
I crouch down and stalk the rabbit. After a minute of doing it I jump after it. I get it by the throat and it stops moving. I smile.
'Perfect' my wolf tells me. I chuckle.
I run back to Mia and drop the wolf in front of her. She wakes up the wolf and lets him eat before her. By the time he was done his face was full of blood and there was only a leg left.
'I'll go hunt down a deer.' I tell Mia. She nods. I run around and search for a deer. Finally.
A buck was eating tree bark, I crouch down and watch my prey. I jump after it and dig my teeth into its neck. It starts bucking and kicking everywhere. It kicked me on my eye. I growl and scratch its neck. Blood starts squirting out of the cut. I smile and lick up the blood.
I drag the deer back to Mia and the wolf. She wakes up when she hears me drop the heavy deer.
She right away digs into his neck and starts eating. I eat after her. She is my mate, i care about her more then me.
She leaves me half of the deer which I gladly eat. I snuggle next to her and lie down. This felt.. Nice.. Being with my mate with a baby wolf with us..
I silently fall asleep, hoping to find Mia's dad the next morning.
