Adopted by Felix and Marzia

Italy

If you didn't know already, Felix is from Sweden and Marzia is from Italy. I have been living with them in England for half a year now and it is coming up to the school summer holidays that last for 7 weeks.

"I think we should have our holiday in Italy. I would love for you to meet your grandparents, Ellie." Marzia said while she was perched on the arm of the sofa.

"Yes, I think that's a really nice idea. What do you think Ellie?" Felix added.

I took it in for a moment. I have never been abroad in my life. This would mean I had to fly on a plane. I would be in a hot country. Sounds good to me! "Yes! I would love to go to Italy!" I exclaimed.

We boarded the plane and I sat in the middle of Felix and Marzia. Marzia was frightened of take off so she clutched my hand. "Has it finished?" She squeaked.

"Yeah. It has." I patted her hand and got my Nintendo 3DS out. We were all playing Mario Cart and Animal Crossing throughout the flight, it was really fun.

We pulled up on the drive of Marzia's parents house and got our bags together. Felix knocked on the door and a smiley, brown haired woman opened it a few moments later. "Hello!" She said with a very strong Italian accent. She hugged and kissed us all and invited us in. "So you must be Ellie! My name is Maria. It's so nice to meet you!" She offered me a cookie and we sat down. "Adalberto! Get in here, your granddaughter is here!" She yelled into the hallway. A handsome looking man came into the room.

"Hi, my name's Ellie." I shook his hand.

"Adalberto." He answered.

"I am sorry, Ellie, he doesn't speak much English." Maria told me. "Why don't we go out for a meal?" She looked around at everyone and they all nodded enthusiastically. We went to a posh Italian restaurant and I had spaghetti and meatballs and for desert I had a big bowl of Lemon Meringue ice cream. It was so delicious! Maria and Adalberto were so lovely, they looked very much like Marzia and they were both just as charming.

When we got back it was 9pm and we were all exhausted. Marzia and Felix stayed in Marzia's bedroom and I stayed in the guest bedroom. It was very pretty, the walls were peach and the bedding was a light yellow. There were teddy bears sitting on top of the drawers and a stain glass lamp was on the side table next to the bed. It was really warm so I slept on top of the covers and took one of the teddies to bed with me.
