I woke up to the sound of Felix yelling at his computer screen, like I do almost every morning now. I lay in bed for a few minutes and decided to get up when I could smell the breakfast that Marzia was making. She was a good cook! She almost always made everything herself and always made something that was delicious. I went downstairs in my silk pyjamas and peeked into the kitchen. I could see chopped fruit, fresh bread, scrambled eggs and more. Marzia was standing in front of the stove, cooking bacon. I edged the door further open and slipped in. Marzia looked at me from over her shoulder. "Hi Ellie! Are you hungry? You can grab a plate if you want and start your breakfast." She gave me a smile then turned back around to the bacon. Felix came up behind me and put his hands on my shoulders. "Ooo this looks good." He went over to Marzia, who was just putting the bacon onto a plate, and wrapped his arms around her waist. He reached his head around to her cheek and have her a kiss. I didn't want to stare so I continued loading my plate up with the delicious food. We all sat at the dining table and ate.
It was the next day at school. I was worried about what Daisy was going to say to me. I mean, I did lie to her about my family and my past. Maybe she'd be over it.
As I was approaching school, there were other kids hanging around the entrance. I didn't notice it at first.. but they were all staring at me. As I realised, I stared back. I was trying to figure out why they were doing it. When I got inside the building, I rushed straight to the toilets to see if I had anything on my face. I looked in the mirror at my appearance and nothing was wrong. My uniform, my hair and my makeup were all fine. So why were they staring? Just as I asked myself this question, Millie and her friends came in. They stopped dead when they saw me. "Oh." Millie said, with a surprised tone to her voice. "So, Ellie. Why don't you hang around with me today? We can get to know each other a little better. I knew we could be friends from the second I met you." She sounded like she was being serious. Why was she asking me this? I thought she hated me!
"No, really, it's fine. I'm ok by myself." I answered. I left the toilets as quickly as I could and ran to my first lesson. I couldn't bare people staring at me any longer.
