Adopted by Felix and Marzia

Starstruck

"Wow." Sam looked around our house in amazement "Your house is so much nicer than mine! Damn, I wish I lived here, you are so lucky. You must be very rich?" He looked at me with wide eyes, waiting for me to answer.

"Erm, I don't think we're that rich." I cringed at the thought. Marzia came into the room with candles in her hands.

"Oh hi!" She said, a bit surprised that I had a friend over.

"This is Sam. He lives next door." I gestured towards Sam and then I turned to him and explained that Marzia was my new mother.

"I'm going to be filming a D.I.Y video so please don't come into the dining room!" Marzia warned us. She shot into the dining room and shut the door behind her.

"Why is she filming a D.I.Y video?" Sam asked me.

"My parents are YouTubers..." I cringed again, even though I thought that it was an awesome job to have. "... It's their job."

"No way!" His eyes were wide again "what are their YouTube channel names?"

"PewDiePie and Cutiepiemarzia." I answered.

"PewDiePie?!?! I've been watching his videos for a year now!! Oh!! Your mum is Marzia! Pewds' girlfriend!! Oh my god!"

I watched him jump up and down in excitement. I have never seen anyone so excited. "Are you ok?" I asked him.

"Yes! This is amazing!" He saw my reaction and attempted to calm down. "Sorry, I got a bit carried away."

I rolled my eyes "it's ok."

"So where's Pewds now?"

"He's upstairs in his office." I said. I watched the excitement rush back into his face. I thought it might be best to avoid Felix for a while. "Do you want to go in the garden or something?"

He nodded and we set off through the house to the garden.

We talked about YouTube and my adoption and my new house and family. He seemed to think that I was really interesting, I suppose he was just being polite.

"So, could I meet your dad? I mean I'm just a big fan of his and would really really like to tell him how awesome he is and..." He froze and then looked embarrassed as I stared at him in slight disappointment. "I'm sorry... I got carried away again."

He kept dropping hints at wanting to meet Felix. I thought that it was a bit rude of him but I finally gave in. I lead him up the stairs and gently knocked on the door.

"Come in!" Felix shouted from in his office. I opened the door and Felix turned around from his desk. "Hi!"

"Hi, this is our new neighbour... Sam." I said reluctantly. Sam came from behind me and exploded saying something like "I LOVE YOU... YOUR VIDEOS ARE GREAT... CONGRATULATIONS, YOU ARE SO LUCKY!!" Etc. Pewds looked a bit shocked but then replied "ohh, thank you so much... I really appreciate it!"

I suppose that I should get used to people being starstruck over my parents. I mean, it is cool having YouTube famous parents but I'm glad that they aren't too famous. It would just get annoying after awhile. There would be no time for being a normal family. And that's all I want.

After Sam asked every possible gaming related question in existence to Pewds, he finally said that he should go home. Well... after his mum came over a few times telling him to go home. I was kind of relieved that he'd gone. He's nice but exhausting to listen to. I apologised to Felix and went to find Marzia who was now editing her video. We watched it back together.

"You are so pretty, Marzia! I wish I was pretty, like you.." I said.

"Aww, thank you Ellie, but you are pretty! You just haven't realised that yet!" She gave me a reassuring look but I wasn't convinced. "Look, why don't we have a girly day tomorrow? I will give you a Marzia makeover! I will do your makeup and we can go to the hair dressers and we can go get you some pretty clothes, sound good?"

"Ok." I knew Marzia was only doing this because she has been itching to go shopping again... but this should be interesting.
