It was the day of Daisy's sleepover. School was a bore as nothing really happened. I talked to Daisy but managed to stay out of everyone else's way. All Daisy could talk about was the sleepover. She was telling me how excited she was and what films we were going to watch. I stopped listening after a while and just nodded occasionally but she didn't notice. She just kept talking.
Marzia drove me to Daisy's house. We pulled up outside and sat in the car for a minute.
"Do you want me to walk you to her door?" Marzia asked in her cute little voice.
"No, no. I'm fine. Thanks for driving me." Marzia wrapped her arms around me and kissed me on top of my head. She then passed me my bags and I got out of the car.
I knocked on the front door of the house and a pale woman with black hair answered. "Hi! You must be Ellie, come in!" I waved at Marzia and then went into the house. Daisy ran up to me and hugged me. I would have hugged back but my arms were stuck against my body from Daisy squeezing me so tightly. She pulled back. "Are you ok?"
"Yeah. I'm fine thanks."
"Come on! let's go upstairs. I'll help you with your bags." She grabbed one of the bags from my hand and started to jog up the stairs. I followed nervously, trying to keep up with her. She lead me to her room which was the furthest away from the stairs. She had posters that covered the walls from top to bottom. I put the bags down near her bed and went over to a wall. I read some of the posters... Fall Out Boy, Muse, Panic! At The Disco, Paramore. There were so many. I noticed a section of YouTubers on her wall. It was right next to her wardrobe. I saw Dan and Phil, KickthePJ, VeeOneEye, Christian Novelli, Emma Blackery but two images stood out the most for me. PewDiePie and CutiePieMarzia. I stared at it until Daisy came over and started to name them all. I knew some of them but there were many faces that I did not recognise.
"So." She said. "Do you want to watch a film now?" I agreed and we watched a strange anime movie. It was about a girl that got trapped in this 'spirit world' and she couldn't find her way out. I felt quite sad for this girl. I kind of knew how she felt to feel trapped in a situation that you couldn't escape.
After the film had ended, Daisy suggested to play truth or dare. "You go first!" She said excitedly.
"Truth." I hated dares. Back in the children's home they would always give terrible dares so I learnt never to pick a dare.
"Ok. Tell me a secret." She looked pleased with herself for forcing me upon revealing a secret. I sifted through all of the secrets that I could think of, trying to find the smallest one. "My family is... kind of rich?" I said finally.
"Oh!" Daisy looked shocked. "That's not really a secret is it?" She looked puzzled.
"It is. I don't want people to know I'm rich so therefore it is a secret."
"Well... I suppose so. Ask me one! I pick truth!" She bounced up and down in excitement. I thought about what I could ask her. I remembered back to when I was in the children's home and decided to ask her one of the truth questions that would frequently appear.
"Who do you fancy?"
"From school I like a boy called Sam. And my celebrity crush is Brendan Urie." She smiled at me as I stared at her.
"Sam??" I asked.
"Yeah, he is soo cute!"
"But he's so annoying!"
"How do you know?"
"He lives next door to me and he always tries to talk to me and." I stopped straight away. I shouldn't have said that. She was staring at me with her mouth wide open.
"No way! You live next to Sam?! Oh my God! I need to come over to your house and I need to see his house. Do you think he will invite us over? You are so lucky!" She was off rambling again. My head started to spin as I realised how much trouble I was in.
