"I can't believe I'm doing this..."
All the time I had spent, working to create a perfect world for everyone involved, was going to disappear. I was going to have to restart all of my progress, and everything I had done.
Worst of all, if I don't get to control the next story, I might not be able to see those I care about and love ever again. It's just hard to think about, but I'm going to have to go through with it anyway.
Because if I don't, bad things will happen.
Bad, bad things.
The world will fall into chaos, despair, and confusion. People will rely on deception more than any other trait. All because of one small thing that will occur if I don't reset.
The resurrection.
I look at myself in the mirror for one last time, wearing my favorite shirt and jeans, each shimmering and glowing of (your favorite color), which also happens to be an important color to me. It's the color that shines brightly when I'm exposed, when I'm at my weakest. It's the color that my enemies aim at, and that my allies and I want to defend.
There's no going back from here, and everyone around me knows it. I've spent so long preparing for this. After this day, everything I have done will only be remembered by a select few.
"Are you sure you want to go through with this?" I heard a familiar voice behind me, worried and afraid, thinking that there might be another way out of this, but I know that this is what has to happen. I fall silent and think to myself. Think about what my life would've been like if this wasn't going to happen, thinking about what could've been, and how I would've lived out my life.
In fact, the familiar voice would've played an extremely important part in my life. He may play an important part in my life after the reset, but that's for fate to tell.
I shook your head, looking in the mirror for one last time. "I don't want to do this, but this is what must happen. There is no other way to stop the future from falling, and I do not want to see the world in agony and sadness."
The familiar voice seems to get louder and angrier as it talks. "We can find another way, we just can't give up hope! There must be a way, and we will find it!" A familiar figure, the holder of this familiar voice, paces behind me. I see glimpses of him in the mirror behind me.
"I'm not risking it. I'm going to take the safe way and ensure that everyone ends up happy. Even if that means never coming back, or never seeing you again..." I stop for a second, and let that process. Never seeing them again, the one person who has influenced my life more than anyone. The one person who has impacted every decision I make, the person that is constantly on my mind and the reason why I have made such distinct choices to this point.
Knowing that there is no way to stop me anymore, they fall silent. They prepare for the world to disappear in front of them, but they know that what they have felt and what has happened will be brought with them into the new timeline, and if they ever see me again, they will make sure that the same thing happens again. The only difference is that in the next timeline, I will find a way.
