Chapter 37 ~ Surgery

Bianda pulled up behind Mia's car.
She turned the engine off and closed her eyes. She took a deep breath and opened them again. She opened the door and got out. She slowly walked to the cabin, door wide open.
Mia stood in front of the bloody puddle.
Jessania stood next to the body, shock plain on her face. Bianda came in and looked at Mia.
Tyrone and Sara came in soon after.
"Are you sure?" Sara asked and a tear rolled down her face.
Mia nodded. "It's Rodriguez."
Bianda's face twisted in pain and she walked back out the door.

Bianda leaned against the car, looking up at the moon.
Mia came and leaned on the car next to Bianda.
"You okay?" She asked Bianda after a moment.
"Is he..." Bianda bit her lip and fought back tears. She looked down and sniffed.
"No. He's in hospital, surgery. But it doesn't look good." Mia said truthfully.
Bianda's tears fell freely now but they were from joy not sadness.
Aiden pulled up and hopped out of the car at the sight of Bianda and Mia.
He rushed over and took Bianda in his arms.
"Oh I'm so sorry." He said and kissed her head.
"Are you okay, Mia?" He asked out of consederation.
She nodded and smiled a thanks.
"What happened?" He asked.
"I'm not sure exactly. I came looking for him and I saw him lying there all bloody. I didn't really look." She replied.
"He's in surgery." She said and Bianda looked up at her.
"Then what are we doing here?" She demanded.
"We should be there!" She said loudly.
"Then go and we'll look and see if we can find anything here." Mia said calmly.
Bianda and Aiden nodded and got in the car.
Mia sighed and went back in. She noted a scent she knew really well. Not Rodriguez's. She gasped in realization.
"Is that scent from -" She asked.
"Yeah." Jessania replied, just as surprised.
"We can't tell Bianda this. She'll go crazy." Mia replied.
Jessania nodded and they both left. They knew who it was so why stay there?
They hopped into the car and drove to the hospital.
Bianda was in a room close to the door, next to a hospital bed.
"How is he doing?" Mia asked.
"They say he's going to take a few days to heal but he should make it." She replied and took a deep breath.
Mia sighed a breath of relief.
Aiden came in soon after with two coffee's from the cafe.
"Oh sorry. If I knew you were here I would've gotten you some too. Would you like some?" He asked as he handed Bianda her cup.
She nodded a thanks.
"No thanks it's okay. It's my turn to go get everyone's next time anyway." Mia replied and looked at Rodriguez's closed eyes.
"Let's go guys. We haven't eaten at all tonight." Jessania said and they all followed except Bianda.
"Hey Bianda, you coming?" She asked.
Bianda looked back and smiled but shook her head.
"I'm not hungry." She replied and looked back to Rodriguez. Mia was walking down the hall to the cafe when she caught a whiff of the one who attacked Rodriguez.
"Get back to Bianda!" She shouted at Jessania and Aiden. They understood immediately and raced back to the room.
Bianda smelt the scent that had been all over Rodriguez before they had rushed him into surgery.
She turned around and her breath became low growls. She clutched the coffee so hard it spilled out. She threw it behind her and her eyes glowed a furious red.
She lunged at Suhaileo but before her hands could get a hold of him, Aiden crashed into her and kept her down.
Mia and Jessania held her arms down but Bianda managed to throw Jessania back into a wall.
Luckily Chris had walked in and rushed to their aid.
Aiden held Bianda down by her shoulders and put his hand on her face.
"Listen to me! Bianda! Just listen for a moment!" He shouted, trying to get her under control. She stopped for a moment but he didn't know what to say.
"He isn't worth it. Rodriguez will take care of it himself. You know he will." Chris said and this seemed to calm her down.
"Just let it go." He said and they all knew she couldn't refuse him.
After a moment of tense silence, she nodded.
They all straightened and sat down, prepared for a long night. The doctors had taken Rodriguez into surgery and they knew it would be a while.
A few hours later
Bianda lay sleeping on Aiden's shoulder, Mia pacing anxiously around the room and Jessania laughing at potato jokes on YouTube.
After a while of this the doctor came in and they all hopped up, including Aiden.
This jostled Bianda and she stood alert. Once she saw that Aiden had stood up, she slapped him on the arm little hard.
"You woke me from my slumber, you jerk!" She said and crossed her arms. Mia fought to contain her laughter so she asked the doctor what was up to stop from bursting in to fits of laughter.
"Don't mind her; she's just being a fool." She said as she saw how the doctor was eyeing Bianda.
"Anyway... Rodriguez is out of surgery and he's actually looking good. Unfortunately, he can't have visitors at the moment, but 2 or 3 days from now should be good." The doctor said and everyone nodded. He soon left and the tense atmosphere that was in the room was now gone. There was happiness and excitement as they all made their way out of the hospital. They all stood in a circle for a moment before Mia spoke.
"Let's do something." She said with a smile.
"Sushi?" Jessania suggested.
"Hell no. Too boring. Let's do something really exciting." Bianda said with an evil smile.
Uh oh. They all thought at the same time.
Bianda rolled her eyes and ignored them. "Let's... go skating." She said. They all frowned.
But I'm on my periods (Jessania)
I can't skate (Mia)
I don't want to fall on my ass (Chris)
I think it's a good idea (Aiden)
Everyone was silent then.
"Huh?" They all said in confusion and turned their heads to the side at the same time. Even Bianda was shocked.
"I didn't mean it literally!" She said and laughed.
"Okay let's... egg houses!" She said after thinking for a few moments.
"Okay let's just hope we don't get caught by the cops." Mia said.
