Harry Potter

"What's going on here? What's going on," Filch said pushing his way through the crowd.

His eyes looked up at his cat and he fell back, his face in horror.

"My cat! My cat! What's happened to Mrs. Norris," He shrieked.

His eyes rested on me and Kiana.

"You! You murdered my cat," Filch yelled.

"Why isn't Madam Pomfrey here," I hissed.

Kiana was bleeding out and her pulse was very faint.

"Argus," Dumbledore yelled.

Dumbledore, followed by many teachers and Pomfrey made their ways to the front. McGonagall shrieked when she saw Kiana bleeding out. Snape took her out of my arms, worry filling his eyes.

"Come on Madam Pomfrey," Snape said hurriedly as the two of them ran towards the Hospital Wing.

Hermione helped me up and I stood besides her. Hermione held onto my hand as she held her tears in.

"Come with me, Argus," Dumbledore said. "You, too, Mr. Potter, Mr. Weasley, Ms. Granger and Mr. Horan. Professor McGonagall have the Prefects escort the students into their Houses and Professor Sprout, inform Ms. Diggory's brother and his close friends."

The two professors nodded and did as told. Lockhart stepped forward.

"My office is nearest, Headmaster just upstairs please feel free," Lockhart said.

I didn't want to go anywhere but the Hospital Wing.

"Thank you, Gilderoy," Dumbledore said.

The silent crowd parted letting us through. If we followed Kiana to the Hospital Wing she wouldn't be hurt. We entered Lockhart's dark office. Lockhart lit candles on his desk and stood back. Dumbledore lay Mrs. Norris on the polished surface and began to examine her. Why is he examining a cat while one of his students is on the verge of death.

"It was probably a curse that killed her probably the Transmogrian Torture I've seen it used many times, so unlucky I wasn't there, I know the very countercurse that would have saved her," Lockhart said.

Filch was sobbing in his chair. I felt bad for him because I feel exactly the same.

"She's not dead, Argus," Dumbledore said softly.

"Not dead," Filch choked. "But why is she all stiff and frozen?"

"She has been petrified," Dumbledore said.

"Ah, thought so," Lockhart whispered.

"But I cannot say how," Dumbledore finished.

"Ask him," Filch yelled.

"No second year could have done this, it would take Dark Magic of the most advanced," Dumbledore began.

"He did it, he did it," Filch yelled. "You saw what he wrote on the wall!! He found in my office he knows I'm a I'm a He knows I'm a squib!"

"I never touched Mrs. Norris, and besides the writing on the wall was in blood. Mrs. Norris doesn't have blood on her! The blood was used from MY BEST FRIEND. NOW WHY WOULD I," I choked ,"why would I hurt my best friend. I don't know what I'd do without her."

Snape entered the classroom with blood on his robes.

"If I might speak, Headmaster," Snape cleared his throat, "Potter and his friends may have been simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. Well, perfect timing to find Ms. Diggory but wrong time for everyone to show up, but we do have a set of suspicious circumstances here. Why was he in the upstairs corridor at all? Why wasn't he at the Halloween feast?"

"We went to Sir Nicholas's death day party," I answered. "There were hundreds of ghosts, they'll tell you we were there –"

"But why not join the feast afterward," Snape asked. "Why go up to that corridor?"

"Because because," I can't have them thinking I'm mental, "because we were tired and wanted to go to bed."

"Without any supper," Snape asked. "I don't think ghosts provided food fit for living people at their parties."

"We weren't hungry," Ron lied as his stomach gave a huge rumble.

Snape's smile had widened.

"May I suggest you take away Quidditch until Potter is ready to be honest," Snape sneered.

"Professor Snape, there is no reason to have Harry stop playing Quidditch. This cat wasn't hit over the head with a broomstick. There is no evidence at all that Harry has done anything wrong but care about Kiana," Jake snapped.

"Innocent until proven guilty, Severus," Dumbledore said firmly.

Snape looked furious as did Filch.

"Besides, if anyone should be punished it should be me! I should've walked her to the Hospital wing and back. No matter how stubborn she is. I should've followed," Jake frowned.

"My cat has been petrified! I want to see some punishment," Filch yelled.

"My best friend has her wrist slit and half her blood on a wall! I want to catch the person who had done this as well," I growled.

"We will be able to cure her Argus, and Harry I'm sure Ms. Diggory is fine. You four may go now," Dumbledore said calmly.

"Can I at least go and see if she's," my voice cracked,"still here."

Dumbledore immediately nodded. The four of us rushed out of the classroom and past the wall. I felt a pang hit my chest as I saw her blood on the wall. We entered the Hospital Wing only to see Cedric, Lucas, Ernie and Jace crying over her body. I fell to my knees and shook my head.

"Is she," I cried.

"She's still alive," Ernie whispered lowly.

"Lost a lot of blood," Lucas frowned.

I face Jace who is neither crying nor saying anything. He's just watching her intently as if he were hurt. Like he loved her. I stood up and ran towards her bed. The cuts were wrapped up and I held her hand gently.

"My sister munchkin I love you please don't d-don't leave me," Cedric sobbed.

Hermione placed a hand on his shoulder. He turned around and pulled her into a tight hug. The two began sobbing in each other's embrace. I heard more footsteps enter the room. I looked up and saw the entire Quidditch Team enter.

"Is she," Fred frowned.

I shook my head. They each circled around her bed and we all sobbed over her. Madam Pomfrey came out of her office wiping her tears away.

"She's going to be alright. We transferred some blood into her. Only one of the students shared the same blood type as her in the school." Madam Pomfrey sniffled. "And now they're both taking blood potions to create the right amount of blood into their bodies.."

"Who donated blood to her?"

I asked.

"Hey Cedric," someone said.

I turned around and saw Jake's twin.

"Josh you saved her life," Cedric sniffled.

Josh nodded.

Josh Horan, I am forever in your debt.
