I walked around the halls looking for Justin trying to explain myself. That Harry was trying to save us and Lucas. Speaking of Lucas, Cedric, Ernie and Jace spoke to me about not being around Harry so much. They stayed far away from Harry and I afraid that he'd hurt them next. Harry would never hurt them. I heard a huge commotion come from the corridor I was approaching. I saw Harry backed against the wall. I looked around and saw Justin petrified on the surface and Nearly Headless Nick dead... again.

"Caught in the act!" Ernie yelled pointing at Harry.

I made my way to the front and stood in front of Ernie.

"You disgust me," I sneered.

I approached Harry and he seemed petrified. His breathing was increasing heavily.

"Harry. Look at me. Look at me," I whispered.

His eyes traveled to Justin's body. I held his face in my head and forced him to stare at me.

"Breathe in and out," I instructed.

Harry nodded and did what he was told.

"He was caught in the act!" Jace yelled this time.

"That will do Macmillan and Styles." McGonagall said sharply.

From above I saw Peeves bobbing around. He broke out in song.

"Oh Potter, you rotter, oh, what have you done, you're killing off students, you think it's good fun –" Peeves sang.

"THAT'S ENOUGH PEEVES. YOU BETTER LEAVE BEFORE I TELL THE BLOODY BARON ON YOU, YOU IDIOTIC FOULESS —" I yelled.

Harry covered my mouth with his hand to get me to stop cursing.

"Calm down Kay," he whispered and I nodded.

Peeves zoomed away. Justin was carried up to the hospital wing by Professor Flitwick and Professor Sinistra of the Astronomy department. Professor McGonagall conjured up a large fan. She had Ernie and Jace fan Nearly Headless Nick's body elsewhere. She then had everyone go to their common rooms but Harry and I.

"This way, you two," she said.

"Professor," Harry said. "I swear I didn't —"

"This is out of my hands you two," McGonagall said curtly.

We marched in silence around a corner and she stopped before a large and ugly gargoyle. We were going to see Dumbledore.

"Lemon Drop!' McGonagall said.

The eagle moved aside and we went upstairs.

"Wait inside you two," McGonagall said and left the room.

Harry and I sat on the two chairs in front of Dumbledore's desk.

"Harry, what happened out there?" I asked.

I held his shaking hand in mine.

"I was looking for Justin to explain what happened the other day. Next thing I know I'm tripping over his body and I tried to get away before anyone saw me so they could stop blaming me.. What the Hufflepuff's are saying about me.. It's horrible. Peeves saw me trying to get away and he yelled that there was another attack and everyone rushed towards me and the scene." Harry cried.

I pulled him in for a hug. Harry pulled away from the hug and stood up approaching the Sorting House. I knew he was curious if he was placed in the right House. I too wonder this with everything that's happening. I stood besides Harry and looked at the beaten down hat. I watched as Harry slipped the hat over his head covering his eyes.

"Er, yes," Harry muttered. I guess the hat was talking to him. "Er — sorry to bother you — I wanted to ask—"

It then grew silent and I waited for Harry to talk again.

"You're wrong," Harry yelled.

He angrily took the hat off and looked up. "Kay turn around."

I did as told and turned around. Standing on a golden perch behind the door was a decrepit-looking bird that resembled a half-plucked turkey. I stared at the bird as it made a gagging noise again. The bird looked Ill and its eyes were very dull. A few feathers fell from its tail. The bird bursted into flames. Harry and I yelled in shock. We looked around for water or something. The bird had turned into a fireball. The office door opened. Dumbledore came in, looking very somber. He's going to think we killed his bird.

"Professor," Harry and I gasped. "Your bird — we couldn't do anything — he just caught fire —"

Dumbledore smiled. Did he dislike his bird?

"About time, too," Dumbledore said. "He's been looking dreadful for days; I've been telling him to get a move on."

Dumbledore chuckled at Harry and I.

"Fawkes is a Phoenix. Phoenixes burst into flame when it is time for them to die and are reborn from ashes. Watch him..." Dumbledore explained.

Harry and I looked down to see a tiny, wrinkled, new born bird.

"It's a shame you both had to see him on a Burning Day," Dumbledore said sitting on his seat. "He's really very handsome most of the time, wonderful red and gold plumage. Fascinating creatures, Phoneixes. They can carry immensely heavy loads, their tears have healing powers, and they can make highly faithful pets."

Why are we here again? Before Dumbledore could speak the door of the office flew open. Hagrid ran inside panting.

"It wasn't Harry," Hagrid said urgently. "I was talk in' ter him seconds before that kid was found, he never had time sir—"

Dumbledore tried to say something but Hagrid waved a rooster around madly spreading feathers around.

"— it can't've been him, I'll swear it in front of the Ministry o' Magic if I have to —" Hagrid ranted.

"Hagrid, I —" Dumbledore said.

"— yeh've got the wrong boy sir. I know Harry never —" Hagrid continued.

"Hagrid!" Dumbledore shouted.

"I do not think either of them attacked those people," Dumbledore said.

"Oh," Hagrid said. The rooster fell limply besides him. "Right. I'll wait outside then, Headmaster."

And he stomped outside looking embarrassed.

"You don't think it was us," Harry asked.

"No I don't. But I still want to talk to the two of you." Dumbledore said.

  Harry and I waited patiently.

"I must ask you, whether there is anything you'd like to tell me," Dumbledore said. "Anything at all?"

I thought about everything but didn't want to sound like a loon.

"No," Harry said. "There isn't anything, Professor.."

"Very well, wait for Ms. Diggory outside please." Dumbledore said.

   Harry nodded and exited.

"And you," Dumbledore asked.

"I think someone knows what I am.. A house elf knew sir. " I said truthfully.

"Which House-Elf?" Dumbledore asked.

"The Malfoy's.." I whispered.

"I'll talk to the House-Elf. You just keep calm, I'll handle this.." Dumbledore smiled.

I nodded. I stood up and approached the door.

"Sir, make sure he doesn't punish himself." I asked.

Dumbledore nodded and I exited the office. Crazy day..
