Awake

I slowly fluttered my eyes and stared at the bright white ceiling. I slowly sat up and looked around.

"Madam Pomfrey," I called.

I heard a crashing noise come from her office and I saw her running out.

"Oh my dear," she cried.

She wrapped her arms around me tightly and sobbed. I wrapped my arms around her and smiled.

"How long have I been here," I asked.

"Four days," she answered.

"Miss anything," I asked. "Quidditch?"

Madam Pomfrey shook her head.

"Good," I smiled.

After persuading Madam Pomfrey I was fine, I walked up to the Gryffindor House tower keeping my head low. I quickly went upstairs and saw that the room was empty. I laid out black tights, a Victoria Secret sports bra followed by the zip up jacket. I then laid out socks and my white converse. I then placed my school robes besides it. I entered the shower and took a long shower. After I changed my stomach rumbled and I chuckled.

"I'm hungry," I said to myself.

I still don't know what exactly happened to me four nights ago.. maybe my brother or friends would know.

"But I have classes and food can wait."

I grabbed my wand and kept it ready for any attacks like madam Pomfrey asked me to and I put my sack on. I exited the common room and walked towards Transfigurations class. I entered the classroom and everyone gasped. Harry, Hermione, Jake and Ron turned around and ran towards me pulling me in for a hug.

"Oh wow, hello," I said awkwardly. "Class is in session, let's get to it."

The four broke out of the hug and chuckled. Harry slung an arm around my shoulder and had me sit besides him.

"Welcome back, Ms. Diggory, we have missed you," Professor McGonagall smiled.

"Glad to be back," I smiled.

Professor McGonagall began her lesson on transfiguring a beetle into a button.

"Miss Granger," she said in the middle of her lecture.

"Professor. I was wondering if you could tell us anything about the Chamber of Secrets," Hermione said in a clear voice.

I looked around the class and saw Dean jerk out of his daydream trance. Lavender lifted her head from her arm and Neville's elbow slipped off the desk. What's the big deal? It's just a question. Professor McGonagall blinked.

"Ms. Granger, how is that relevant to the lesson," McGonagall asked.

I lifted my hand in the air.

"Ms.Diggory," she asked.

"Why does everyone seem so freaked out about the question," I asked.

The whole class was awake and now paying attention.

"Oh, very well," she said slowly. "Let me see... the Chamber of Secrets you all know of course, that Hogwarts was founded over a thousand years ago the precise date is uncertain by the four greatest witches and wizards of the age. The four school Houses are named after them : Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin. They built this castle together, far from prying Muggle eyes, for it was an age when magic was feared by common people, and witches and wizards suffered much persecution. For a few years, the founders worked in harmony together, seeking out youngsters who showed signs of magic and bringing them to the castle to be educated. But then the disagreements sprang up between them. A rift began to grow between Slytherin and the others. Slytherin wished to be more selective about the students admitted to Hogwarts. He believed that magical learning should be kept within all-magic families. He disliked taking students of Muggle parentage, believing them to be untrustworthy. After a while, there was a serious argument on the subject between Slytherin and Gryffindor, and Slytherin left the school. Reliable historical sources tell us this much, but these honest facts have been obscured by the fanciful legend of the Chamber of Secrets. The story goes that Slytherin had built a hidden chamber in the castle, of which the other founders knew nothing. Slytherin, according to the legend, sealed the Chamber of Secrets so that none would be able to open it until his own true heir arrived at the school. The heir alone would be able to unseal the Chamber of Secrets, unleash the horror within, and use it to purge the school of all who were unworthy to study magic."
