Evening began to roll in, the sky darkening a little with clouds but lit with the thousands of millions of stars. Sophie had her back to Jim as she finished mopping, happy that the deck was finally clean – though the crew hadn't helped by "accidently" dropping a mess now and again. She kept her grievances to herself, rather worried in case another fight started again. Though she couldn't wait to go to her bed, not used to as much excitement on the first day plus she and Jim had been working non-stop for a long time now. A sigh escaped the blonde, though she continued her work, Jim looked at her missing her smile for a reason unknown to him. Since when did he start missing a girl's smile?! Since when did he even look at girls?! All the girls at his school were only interested in boyfriends and getting married one day, some just wanted him because he was a "bad boy" and even though he enjoyed the attention from them. It didn't compare to the rush he felt when Sophie paid attention to him, how could he speak to her? His "bad boy" image didn't seem to attract her at all – he began questioning what did attract girls, more importantly Sophie – how could he get her attention?

With a sigh of his own, he stopped mopping and wiped his forehead with his jacket sleeve, Morph burping out bubbles from pretending to be a mop on his feet. It made him smile a little, he had a plan to get Sophie to pay him attention – make her laugh, and hopefully Morph would play along as well. "Well, this has been a fun day huh?" Jim asked Morph, Sophie rolled her eyes a little at his question – it was bit obvious he was being sarcastic. "Making new friends, like that spider psycho." Jim smirked, wiggling his fingers at Morph who turned into a mini Scroop. "Spider psycho! Spider psycho!" Morph repeated, Sophie raised an eyebrow – now watching the conversation with some amusement – though it didn't sit right that Jim was making an indirect joke at those with mental illnesses. Jim, noticing that the blonde wasn't smiling, pretended to be slightly unimpressed by Morph's imitation. "Heh, a little uglier." He instructed Morph did as asked creating an uglier Scroop with evil eyes as he cackled evilly. "Pretty close." Jim complimented, Sophie giggled a little – Morph was cute, well until he impersonated her, making the blonde's eyes widen. "You forgot the smile." Jim pointed out, Sophie blushed a little – why did he want a smile? She wondered, a little confused – didn't he not like her? "Nah, not close enough." Jim smiled, pleased that Sophie was looking his way.

"Well thank heavens for little miracles. Up here for an hour and the deck's still in one piece." Silver smiled, happy that the teenagers hadn't been in anymore trouble that would bring too much attention to his crew and the mutiny. Morph quickly reverted to his old self before his master could see him, diving over the edge of the ship for the leftovers that was thrown overboard. Sophie smiled a little at the cyborg, having thanked him earlier for helping her out – he sent one back, wondering how he could keep her busy – sure she did the work but she was many steps ahead of Jim, having read about the crew. "Um, look, I, uh... what you did..." Jim suddenly spoke, Sophie raised an eyebrow – he was thanking Silver? That must've taken some pride, she thought. Jim sighed through his nose, ending his fiddling with the mop to look at Silver directly, "Thanks." He finally spoke, continuing to mop in the spot. Silver felt a strange connection to the boy, he was just like him as a kid – always getting into trouble and having a running mouth, he turned to face Jim. "Didn't your papa ever teach you to pick your frights a bit more carefully?" He asked, the miniscule smile on Jim's face fell before he turned his back on the cyborg, Sophie looked away – maybe he was just like her, no parents. "Your father's not the teachin' sort." Silver stated, having a sense of an issue of Jim's father. Jim stopped mopping, a scowl of remembering the foul memory from seven years ago. "No. He was more, the "taking off and never coming back" sort." Jim bluntly explained, the blonde's heart pained a little – she knew what it was like not to have a father in life. The male teenager made his way over to the rail, with Silver following him. Morph cuddled into Sophie's neck, sensing her pain.

"Oh. Sorry, lad." Silver apologised, leaning on the rail as the teenager glanced at him from the corner of his eye before setting the mop against the rail and peering over. "Hey, no big deal. I'm doing just fine." Jim insisted, though his voice cracked a little – he wasn't fine, he was the exact opposite and was just pretending to be alright. The blonde didn't know what to do with herself and slowly made her way over to beside Jim looking out at the stars. "Is that so?" Silver asked, a plan coming to mind to keep Jim busy enough to not have time to suspect him or the crew. "Well, since the captain has put you in my charge, like it or not. I'll be pounding a few skills into that thick head of yours to keep you out of trouble." Silver exclaimed, poking Jim's forehead, which the teen waved off. "What?" Jim asked, sounding extremely annoyed. Sophie cupped her chin in one hand, watching the scene unfold with interest though she did find it funny watching Jim get flustered and Silver not listening. "From now, I'm not letting you out of me sight." Silver continued, not seemingly caring what Jim Hawkins thought about his idea."You can't do-!" Jim protested before Silver interrupted him, a grin forming on his features while Jim shook his head with a disgusted scowl. "You won't so much as eat, sleep or scratch your bum without my say-so!" Silver explained, using his fist to hit the rail to emphasise his point. Sophie laughed a little, he was being over the top but it was hilarious. Jim glowered at the cyborg, not liking the idea one bit as he sneered at Silver, "Don't do me any favours!" He shouted, close to the cook's face who only smirked and wasn't fazed by Jim's outburst. "Oh, you can be sure of that my lad. You can be sure of that." Silver smirked before laughing as he patted Jim's chest, holding him in a one armed hug. Sophie raised her eyebrows, hoping he wasn't going to carry the same idea out on her.

"And, Sophie!" Silver called, breaking away from Jim to half embrace her. "Why, yer such a quiet soul! I'm going to have to make ye speak some more lass!" He grinned, Jim frowned a little – she looked uncomfortable and it didn't sit right with him."Let her go." He said strongly, Silver's eye widened and quickly let go of Sophie who smiled gratefully at Jim. "First thing tomorra! I want the two of you out here at the crack of dawn! Come, Morph." Silver called before striding off whistling a tune to himself. "So get some grub then some shut eye!" The cyborg added, seeing the two teenagers just standing on the deck.

Jim and Sophie were facing one another, the blonde bowing her head as she slowly rubbed her forearm. "Thank you." She finally said, "No problem." He answered. A silence fell between the pair, his eyes lingered on her for a few moments as he stuffed his hands into his pockets, Sophie bit her lip a little and lifted her eyes and saw Jim looking at her. "I um... I should go to sleep. Big day tomorrow... Good night!" She stammered, feeling her heart race and scurrying off, banging her hip into the stair rail. Jim smiled a little after her, so she wasn't what he expected – she wasn't the "Interstellar Perfect" girl that he had expected – she was clumsy, shy but for some reason he liked that about her. He shook his head, he was on an adventure! Not looking for a girlfriend especially when he was punching way above his weight, Sophie was probably already with some rich snob that was perfect in every way. However, Jim really hoped that she wasn't committed – maybe she was someone that he could learn from as well.
