The three ran to the stairs, Silver leading the way – protective of the two teenagers who trailed closely behind. He put his mechanical arm out in front of Jim to stop him running out,"What the devil?" He asked, wondering why the peaceful night sky was now a bright red. Sophie whimpered, gripping Jim's hand tighter, it reminded her of the night her father died – stomach twisting uncomfortably. "What's happening?" She asked, Jim turned to face her cupping her cheek in his hand, eyes as wide as hers. "The star Pelusa! It's gone supernova!" Delbert shouted, Just as a wave of energy blasted a lot of people off their feet, Amelia ran by the trio – a feline on a mission, Sophie wished she could be like Amelia – get over her initial fear to take action. "Evasive action, Mr Turnbuckle!" She called running up the stairs. "Get her to a lifeline lad." Silver prompted Jim, making the teenagers move – the cyborg felt sympathetic towards Sophie – he knew Jim's story but Sophie hadn't spoken a word about her parents, however he had guessed something tragic had happened.
Jim, not arguing with Silver, pulled Sophie close to him and practically dragged her to the mast with lifelines attached. "Come on! You need to help me!" Jim urged, Sophie shook her head with tears falling from her eyes – frustrated the brunette grabbed her wrists to wrench them away from her face. "Snap out of it! Tie yourself down!" He shouted, giving her a slight shake. Sophie whimpered again and bowed her head, getting more frustrated Jim tied her lifeline – making sure it was not going to come off anytime soon. "All hands fasten your lifelines!" Mr Arrow shouted, the crew did as commanded while Sophie stayed out of their way – knowing better than to get in the crew's path, especially now. Sophie's mind went into overdrive, she was petrified something would happen to Amelia and Mr Arrow, and stumbled forward, looking up at the sails."Oh no, Amelia! The Sails!" She shouted, the feline paused and looked at the damaged sails with wide eyes, "Mr Arrow, secure those sails!" Amelia hollered, "Sophie! Up here now!" The teenager did as she was told, not before Jim noticed and held her shoulders, "Be safe, please." He pleaded, eyes boring into hers – Sophie nodded which Jim sigh in relief. "Secure all sails! Bring them down men!" Mr Arrow hollered, before the blonde could register what was happening – Jim pecked her cheek and tore off after Silver. Her fingers brushed the spot, forgetting the danger she was in and her fear – he made it go away. "Sophie!"Amelia shouted, harsher than usual bringing the teenager out of her daydream, Sophie yelped in response and ran up to her godmother. "Get low and don't come out until I tell you." She commanded, numbly Sophie nodded and crouched down by the wheel. Covering her ears, not wanting to listen to the crew yelling and Permusa going supernova, it brought back too many distressing memories.
While Sophie sat in the closet, she could hear the pain filled cries of the crew and the cannons roaring with gunshots scared the living daylights out of her. "Daddy..." She whimpered, bottom lip threatening to tremble visibly as she fought to hide her tears, she had to be brave for her father otherwise she wouldn't be allowed to sail again. The ship was hit by cannon fires making the child scream as she covered her head. Desperately, she wanted her father – for him to come in and embrace her, telling her everything was alright.Sophie overheard the doctor yelling to her godmother, maybe it was all over! She uncovered her ears and looked at her godmother, hoping that the supernova was done with. "Captain, the last wave! Here it comes!" Doppler shouted, he was nearby to Sophie and offered his hand for support, she gladly took it and they huddled together. "Hold on to your lifelines, gents! It's gonna be a bumpy ride!" Amelia called as they entered the black hole, Sophie buried her face into Doppler's jacket – if she was going to die then she didn't want to see it. A few seconds of deafening silence passed, Sophie wasn't sure if she was still alive – she couldn't see and the entire ship was quiet. Suddenly a large boom sounded, sending the ship flying forward out of the black hole, Doppler's grip loosened and he ended up in a pile of ropes. Once she felt secure, with the crew cheering to reassure her, Sophie got up and embraced Amelia – who held her back. "We made it." Sophie said quietly, hardly believing it herself – it would be a brilliant essay to write, how the crew of the RLS Legacy survived a supernova and black hole! Amelia released Sophie with a small smile and walked past the doctor who was scrambling to get out of the ropes that he got tangled in. "Captain! That- oh my goodness! That was- that was absolutely- that was the most-" The Doctor rambled as he untangled himself, Sophie giggled a little at his bumbling behaviour. "Oh tish tosh." Amelia interrupted, using the instrument to inspect the galaxy for any further danger, Sophie ran down the steps to greet Jim and Silver, she ran into the teenager's waiting arms, overjoyed to see that he was safe. Silver chuckled to himself, for once forgetting the mutiny – noticing how tightly Jim held Sophie, it was deep romantic feelings that he could see. "I'm so glad you're alright!" Sophie exclaimed as she pulled away a little, Jim blushed a little but smiled brightly at her.
