Lunch time.
Or for me, it was lunch detention. I groaned at the thought as I put my books in my locker. I grabbed my lunch pale and slammed the locker shut. As I went to go to the detention room, I was faced with a tall boy.
"Why are you so worked up?" he asked, chuckling.
"William," I breathed, kinda relieved to see him.
He smiled down at me, leaning against the locker. "You going anywhere for lunch?"
"Lunch detention," I moaned, punching the bridge of my nose.
"Well that's no fun. Alice ditched me for her new friend and since Zac isn't here, you're my last resort," he joked.
I rolled my eyes. "Ghee, thanks,"
"Do you have a habit of rolling your eyes or something? You do that a lot,"
I huffed and pushed past him. I really didn't want to deal with anybody right now. I wanted to get lunch over with. William grabbed my shoulder, trying to grab me.
"What, William?"
He looked down, putting his hand on the back of his neck. "Are you doing anything after school? If not I was thinking we could hang out..." He was talking really quietly, and I've never seen him act like this around a girl.
The lunch bell was about to ring and so I just hurried and nodded my head. He smiled as he waved after me while I was running down the hall.

"You're late," the lunch detention lady said. I just barely made the bell before it ring but because I wasn't in my seat she counted me tardy.
The room was slightly full, and I never realized how many people actually came to lunch detention and didn't skip. I would've skipped to go see Zac but I really didn't feel like having a full week of this. I sat in the far back of the room, trying to avoid any contact. Everybody in here was trouble makers except for a girl I've never seen before.
I opened my lunch and started eating away at my apple. I kept looking at the time but time went by slower when you were in detention. I huffed. The girl who sat down next to me just kept looking at me. I looked over at her, and she would avoid my gaze.
"Can I help you?" I asked quietly. We weren't allowed to talk in here.
Her eyes widened. "Are you talking to me?" She asked sheepishly.
"Who else would I be talking to?"
She pursed her lips. I didn't mean to sound rude but it was really weird how she kept staring at me. I continued to eat my apple, but this time it was awkward. It looked like she was staring at my food.i reached into my pale pulling out a mini salad I had.
I offered it to her. "Do you want it?" I asked
"Oh no, I couldn't take your food. I don't even know you," she looked ahead.
I shrugged and placed it on the edge of my table. We sat in silence for ten minutes before anybody said anything.
"Do you know Zachury Stevens?" She asked.
How in the hell did she know him?
"Yes, he's my best friend..."
Her expression turned sour. "He's kinda cute... A lot of girls think that now,"
I raised my eyebrow, confused as hell. Other people thought Zac was cute? My Zac? Zachury Stevens?
"Says who? Since when?
"Be quiet!" The teacher barked, causing the girl to shrink back in her seat. I kicked her foot.
"Everybody is talking about it. I have seen Zac around but this is the first time I've actually paid attention to him. He's quite the cutie," she looked down at her fidgeting hands, lovingly.
"You mean my Zac? The one I've known for over 11 years?"
She looked up, scared. "Your Zac? Are you guys dating?"
I sadly shook my head. "No, but we will," I sounded a bit confident even though I knew it would never happen. Zac didn't look at me like that. Never has, never will.
The bell rang but I hung back for a bit, I wanted to get more information out of this girl. When she tried to leave I grabbed her arm. She looked terrified.
"Who started this whole thing?" I asked.
She looked around for an escape. Man, she sure was the nervous type. "I... I don't know... Let me go,"
I let her go as she rubbed her arm. I wasn't even grabbing her hard. "I'm sorry. I just really need to know,"
"Why? Do you have a crush on him too?"
Crushes? He has multiple crushes? "You can say that. Nobody ever noticed him till now.... Why?"
"I.. I don't know,"
She knew. Who was she trying to protect? "Please tell me. I'm losing my best friend,"
She looked down. "Do you know the new girl? Marie?"
Of fucking course. I knew Marie had something to do with this. I was fuming. I feel like Zac had something to do with this but I don't really know. I stared at the girl who pretty much told me my death sentence.
"I.. I'm sorry... I didn't know you would... Get mad,"
"What's your name?"
"Katelyn,"
"Thanks for telling me, Katelyn,"
I stormed away after that to find the bitch that is trying to steal Zac from me.
