William and I pulled up to the gigantic mansion where the Halloween party was being held. There were fake spider webs laying on the bushes and trees. The house has orange lights strung around every inch of the outside and I could hear the loud ass pop music playing. Drunk guys were sprawled on the lawn, and some of them were naked. Several girls in slutty bunny outfits were standing outside the door screaming 'do it!' multiple times before a girl streaked around the house.
I huffed, not totally sure if I wanted to go in there or not. William grabbed my hand. "Let's go have fun," he smiled, climbing out of the car. He came over and opened my door for me. I stepped out into the harsh cold, wondering how these girls could stand being outside. I suddenly felt bad for the naked, drunk men. William escorted me inside where I received several glares like I wasn't supposed to be here.
The music was blaring and I could hardly hear myself think. The smell of alcohol and marijuana filled the room and I was overcome with a wave of nausea. William motioned over to what looked like the dance floor. "You want to dance?!" He screamed, but I could hardly hear him. I nodded anyway.
William dragged me through the crowd of grinding drunk teenagers and pulled me close. I looked up at him. I couldn't dance. I didn't know how. I was embarrassed. William took the hint and turned me around, forcing my ass up against him. He got close to my ear and told me to just go with it. I felt uncomfortable dancing in front of people but I was the one who wanted to go here. I tried to do what the other girls were doing and just went with it.
William put his hands on my hips, grinding with me. I could feel him against me. I pulled away and he looked down at me. "I'm sorry," he mouthed. I waved it off, screaming that I was going to get a drink.
I shoved through the crowed of obnoxious people trying to find the drink counter. I was hoping they had water but I was also afraid of it being spiked or drugged. I found a barstool and sat at the bar. I had a headache from the music and the foul odors. I wasn't much of a drinker nor have I ever smoked a day in my life. I was a good kid. A girl sat next to me and ordered a shot of tequila. She looked like she was on the verge of being drunk but she also looked familiar.
She looked over at me. "You!" She slurs, lazily pointing a finger at me.
She was wearing a pink bedazzled eye mask and a flapper girl costume. Her platinum blonde hair was in a long ponytail. "You?" I questioned.
She giggled. "You don't have Zac," she teased like a little kid.
Wait a minute.
"Marie?"
She pointed to herself. "In the flesh," she smiled brightly. "Zac is mine, ya know,"
My face started to get hot. "Fuck you,"
She leaned in closer. "What was that?" The smell of alcohol was in her breath and it smelt awful.
I covered my nose. "Fuck. You! Get the hell away from you. You stink,"
She didn't get offended. She only laughed. "You never had a chance, girllllll," she continued laughing and the next thing I knew I had blood on my knuckles.
Marie fell back on her ass, holding her nose for dear life. "You stupid bitch! You broke my nose!" She cried, trying to stand back up.
I didn't even know what came over me. I have never acted out before. The anger was flowing through me and I couldn't stop shaking. "Marie, I am so sor-" I was interrupted when William came and grabbed my arm. A man in a baseball uniform came to help Marie up and when he turned around my heart shattered.
"Meredith, what the hell?!" Zac screamed, holding Marie's face.
"Zac, I can explain..."
"No. I'm tired of this. Get the hell out of here. You've done enough already, you stupid bitch!"
William stepped in now, grabbing Zac's shoulder. "You do not call Meredith a bitch. What the hell is wrong with you, man?"
Zac glared at him with cold eyes. "You defending your girlfriend?"
"Would it matter? Did Marie change you this much?"
"Meredith is easy anyway. She will chase after you and she will keep doing it as long as you show you don't care. Have fun," he smiled, darkly.
My heart hurt. Zac knew the whole time and didn't give a single fuck. My eyes started to water and I wanted to go home.
"You're drunk. You need to get home..."
Zac shoved William's hand off his shoulder. "Nah, I have better things to do. Have fun with your easy girl," he laughed, dragging Marie away.
I couldn't understand what just happened. Never in my life has Zac ever been this mean. I've never seen him drunk before either. Marie was such a bad influence on him and I couldn't control it. I ran past the crowd of people and out into the bitter cold. My face was streaming with tears and I'm sure that they would turn to icicles on my face.
I hopped in the car, dropping my face into my hands. William got in soon after and turned the car on. He put his hand on my leg.
"I am so sorry, Mer... I didn't think it would be like this..." He started.
I sniffled. "It's okay... It's not your fault. I just want to go home..."
I felt something crush against my lips just then. I felt Williams hand on the back of my back, pulling me closer to him. His lips were soft and wanting. He grabbed my face gently and pecked my lips again. He stopped kissing me and looked into my tearful eyes.
"Yeah, let's go home,"
