School was the last thing I wanted to be doing with my time right now. Everybody was getting ready for the biggest Halloween party in the town and I was stuck doing a Spanish presentation. Isn't that fun? I wasn't even halfway through with it. I shouldn't have procrastinated. I kept looking at my phone, hoping and praying someone would invite me out just so I had an excuse to stop doing this.
My phone vibrated and the name on my phone that popped up was a name I haven't heard from in a long time.
You busy tonight? - Alice
I thought about just not replying back. She's been too busy with her new friend which I'm assuming is Marie. I don't doubt that it could be. She pretty much stole everyone else out of my life.
Would it matter if I was? I replied. I didn't really even care about her anymore. I don't get why she was texting me.
I'm sorry that I haven't talked to you in awhile but I wanted to change that. - Alice
Why now? - Mer
....forget it. She was right about you. I shouldn't have even bothered. - Alice
Who is 'she'? Alice, we haven't talked for over a month and then you decide one day to just talk to me again? That's not how it works. You don't know how many people you've pushed out of your life. - Mer
I'm not really one to start a fight over text message but I couldn't stop myself this time.
What? You mean just you and William? - Alice
Yes! William and I. You don't even care that he liked you or anything because you're too hung up on your stupid long distance boyfriend. News flash! He's probably cheated on you. - Mer.
Okay, that was a bit harsh. I just didn't care at this point. My phone came to life with Alice's ringtone. I wasn't gonna answer it. I had a presentation to get done and it wasn't gonna get done by arguing with her. It was quite clear that we weren't friends anymore. William and I only had each other now. I was fine with that.
Once Alice stopped blowing up my phone, I decided to call William.
"Hello?" Williams voice sounded groggy.
"Were you sleeping? I'm sorry if I woke you,"
I heard his bed creak in the background. "Of course I wasn't sleeping. I was... Working out. I actually just got out of the gym," his tone became lighter and more assertive.
I giggled. "Alright,"
We were both quiet for a few moments. "Why did you call me, again?" He asked. "Not that I have a problem with it..."
"Would you like to go to the Halloween party tonight?" I blurted out. I don't even know where that came from.
"Don't you have homework to do, miss priss?" He mocked, playfully.
"No...."
He chuckled. "Sure. Thanks for actually inviting me out somewhere," he teased. "I'll come pick you up,"
"Okay, I'll see you soon," I hung up the phone.
I sighed. I looked down at my half done Spanish presentation then glanced over at my Halloween costume that was thrown over my desk chair. I shut my laptop screen and went over to grab my costume.
It was a 60 or 70's poodle dress. It was poofy at the bottom and the colors were teal and black. I quickly slipped out of the clothes I was in and put the costume on. It was slightly itchy and it was kinda short. I should've bought a bigger size because now this looks slutty. I blow dried my hair around a round brush so I can get that 60's or 70's theme going and threw my little matching hat on. I slipped on a pair of black high heels and as soon as I did William was at my door.
"Meredith! Your friend is here!" I heard Katie yell from down the stairs.
"Coming!" I responded. I grabbed my red lipstick and quickly put some on. I ran down the stairs to be greeted by a vampire William. He had his brown hair slicked back, a black cape on with a white blouse and black khakis. He had vampire fangs in with fake blood dripping down the side of his mouth.
He glanced at me and had to take a double take. He fanned himself like he was hot. "God damn, Mer. You're looking mighty hot," he says in a Dracula accent.
I punched his arm. My dad came from the kitchen to join Katie by her side.
"Do you mind if I get some pictures?" My dad asked, pulling out his smart phone.
I was about to respond but William beat me to it. "Sure thing,"
My dad motioned for us to get close together and of course, I had to be awkward about it. I stood next to William, not wanting to put my arm around him. I smiled awkwardly.
"Come on, act like you like each other," my dad teased, motioning for us to get closer together.
William wrapped his arm around my waist, pulling me in. I wrapped my arm around him and tried to smile the best I could. My dad took several pictures and then made us do some goofy ones. At this rate we were never getting out of here. My dad was just like my mom.
"Okay, dad. William and I have to go," I was trying to pull William out before we got suckered into taking even more with Katie and him.
"Send those to me, please! Nice to see you guys," William called out as I was closing the front door. We made our way to the truck and when I got inside I was forever grateful. It was still warm. I don't know why I chose to wear a short dress when it's super cold outside.
"We will have fun, I promise you," William told me as he grabbed my hand.
DISCLAIMER; the picture is what Merediths costume looks like. Also, please go and check out my friends poetry story! Her name is Amisha_a. She also made my cover and the picture that is in my third chapter. I hope you guys are enjoying this story!

Romance"Marie and I are not a thing," he started, looking away from me. "And?" He pursed his lips. I could tell he wanted to say something. He just shook his head. "That's all you need to know," I was furious. Why does he always freaking say that? "Then...
