R O S E
"This place is pretty big." I stated quietly to my Aunt.
"Yeah," Gloria laughed. "There is your girlfriend." The brunette pointed to Sarah who was sitting on a bench, slipping on a pair of bowling shoes.
"She's not my girlfriend." I exhaled, "I'm not even gay." The older women patted my back.
"Keep tellin' yourself that honey." I shook my head and walked over to Sarah.
"Hey city girl!" The blonde looked up, smiling.
"Hey." I sat beside her on the bench by the bowling lanes and waited for Gloria to bring their shoes.
"Well, ya ready to bowl?" The older women shrugged, tying her shoes.
"Are ya a-" I was quickly cut off by Gloria's booming voice.
"Here ya go, Rose." She handed me the bowling shoes, and I removed my boots to slip the others on.
Once Gloria had done the same we sat up our game, picked out bowling balls, and began to play.
I looked into the screen to see my name had already been chosen for me.Country G
I laughed and turned to glare at Sarah playfully.
"You're first Momma G." Sarah teases Gloria.
"That's the last time we let Paulson pick our names." Gloria laughed, grabbing her ball, and stepping to the lane to bowl.
While Sarah and I watched.
"Are ya alright, Sarah?" I
questioned, Sarah's brown eyes grew wide. "You seem distant is all.""Strike! Strike! Strike, bitches!" Gloria yells proudly.
"Sarah." I began.
"Tequila P! You'r-r-r-e up." Gloria pointed to the actress.
"We'll talk later." I watched as Sarah stood and went up to bowl. The game went on like this for an hour or so until the screen announced Gloria as the winner.
"Since I'm such a good sport I'll buy y'all some food."
"I'm not hungry." I stated.
"Me either, Gloria, but thank you." Sarah agreed, Gloria nodded and headed to the snack bar.
"Now will ya tell me what's wrong?" The older women turned to me and let a small smile spread on her lips.
"I'm just tired."
"Your lying." I replied boldly.
"Am not." Sarah ran her slender fingers through short, blonde waves.
"Are to." I grabbed the actress's shoulder, "please tell me."
"I-i'm think well, I-"
"They've some amazing-g fries." Gloria barged into the conversation.
"Good to know." I snapped. All I wanted to do was spend time w- Oh my god. Spend time with Sarah... That doesn't mean... Does it?
"Well then, I'll leave ya be." The brunette trotted off, leaving Sarah and I alone.
"Y-ya were saying?"
"Oh God." Sarah ducked her head down.
"What?" I turned to see a group of people walk into the building.
"Me ex is here."
"Who?" The older women raised her head and turned to guide me with her eyes.
"Her names Holland." And then I saw her. She seemed much older than Sarah and I. Her dark blonde hair spiked. Her clothes were modern, she wasn't ugly by any means but she had seen better days.
"She's coming this way." I observed.
"Oh god, Rose. Please hide m-"
"Sarah!" The women's voice rang, annoyingly towards my friend. And then I had an idea. I scooted closer to Sarah on the bench we were sat on and wrapped my arm around her. Obviously taken off guard the latter stiffened but I rubbed her back and almost immediately she relaxed.
"Who's this?" Holland asked, directly towards me.
"I'm Rose Travis." I held out my free hand, "her girlfriend."
"Oh my! Well, its very nice to meet you, Ms. Travis." I felt Sarah tense up again as the older women grabbed my hand and shook it. "I'm Holland."
"Likewise." I smiled, "well Sarah and I better get goin'. We've reservations and wouldn't want to miss them" I lied.
"Alright, well, it was nice seeing you Sarah." She looked to my terrified friend.
"Mhm."
"And you, Ms. Travis." I nodded and guided Sarah to stand.
"Come on babe." I grabbed my friend's hand and intertwined our fingers. Surprisingly it felt, right. Holland walked away and I smiled at the blonde.
"Thank you, R- Rose." I squeezed her hand assuredly and we walked outside the building together. With my free hand I texted Gloria.
R- Leaving with Sar.
G- Getting laid?
R- OMG, No.
G- Sure, sure. (;
Sighing I stuffed my phone back into my jean pocket.
"Really.." Sarah began, "Thank you." I smiled, never untangling our hands. We now stood in front of her Lexus. "I've gotta tell you something, Rose.."
