Rose laid in our bed, her phone in hand, and a smile across her face. She chuckled softly at the device before sitting it on the nightstand.

"Meryl?" I questioned, trying to keep the malice out of my voice. She quickly nodded.

"Yeah," I laid down beside her in our bed. "She's wants us to have lunch with her tomorrow."

"Sounds good to me." I gritted through my teeth before turning my lamp off on my side of the bed and turning on my side. "Goodnight, Rose."

The blonde snuggled close to me, and wrapped her arm around my torso. "Night, baby. I love ya." I grabbed her hand and kissed her palm delicately.

"I love you too," I smiled into the dark room.

What was I so jealous about? Rose was mine. And only mine.

"I'll have a sweet tea with lemon." Meryl told the waitress sweetly.

"And for you?" The waitress looks over towards Rose.

"I'll have the same, thank ya," Rose says kindly. I give her a weird look because she never wants sweet tea. She normally just drinks water.

"And what about you?"

"Oh, I'll have a diet Dr. Pepper, please and thank you," I reply as our waitress walks away.

"Looks like you're the odd one out, this time Ms. Paulson," Meryl says with a laugh. I watch my girlfriend as her smile appears wider than ever at her tiny joke. I smile as well to try and hide the fact that I'm annoyed. Rose isn't even sitting next to me, she's sitting across from me with Meryl closely to her hip.

"You know, ice tea drinkers usually have a better metabolism. Or so I've heard," Meryl begins.

"Is that so? I've always heard that diet soda is worse than regular. Sarah's got a bad habit of drinking diet everything," Rose says with a laugh.
I like my diet soda and since when does Rose drink iced tea?

"I never knew you were one for tea, Rose," I exclaim trying to make conversation.

"Oh, yeah. I used to drink it all the time down in Oklahoma. I was tellin' Meryl last night over text how I had the best southern tea you'll ever taste."

"Yes, that's right. I also had some excellent tea in London once, and honest to god, it can't be beat."

They're discussing tea and I didn't even know my girlfriend liked tea.
Our waitress brings our drinks back and asks for our order.

"I'll have the steak and eggs on the side, please?" Meryl says, "oh, and sunny side up, if you don't mind, deary."

"I'll have what she's having," Rose says as she points to the older woman.

I don't know why I'm getting so irritated it's just food.

"I'll have the hamburger. Medium well with fries on the side along with some honey mustard, please?"

Our waitress nods and takes our menus, "I'll have that out quickly!"

"I'll have what she's having?" Meryl says with a wide grin. "Ever seen that movie?"
