"Rose," My mom's voice rang from across the room. "Go feed Angel and Jasper, would ya?" I bobbed my head, making my way outside, and towards the horse stables.
It had been nearly two and a half months since I left New York. My family took me back with open arms. I even began to work on the ranch again, and picked up a job at a small diner in town. I had a constant busy schedule-Just the way I liked it. I had begun to get back into the routine of things, which helped with missing my short-lived life in NYC with Sarah.
Until last night. .
My mind wandered to her drunken words, while I poured feed into the large, metal trays. And with that came the flashback of seeing her kiss another woman. Her ex, Holland, to be exact. The familiar sting rushed its way into my heart. Bringing tears to my eyes as I ran my hand across Angel's side, petting her delicately.
"Why would she d-do that t-ta me. ." I asked more than spoke to my horse. The only reply I received was her big black eyes staring blackly back at me. I wiped away the tears with the sleeve of my shirt, regaining my composure. "Wanna go for a ride girl?"

Angel came to a halt upon command and we stopped on top of a small hill about a mile away from my home. As a kid I'd go here to get away from all the commotion of living with a uptight mother, and two older rambunctious brothers. I took a deep breath, inhaling the crisp, clean Oklahoma air as I studied my surrounds. It was always the same: the beautiful orange setting sun illuminated the vast sky around this time of day. Turning the normal blue color to different shades of orange and red. I gazed below Angel's feet, the short cut grass was healthy and the brightest green I had ever seen. And the best part of my little get away had always been the view. I could see my home and ranch from this vantage point. I had always loved the feeling of superiority- to feel in control. I smiled inwardly to myself as I continued to watch as the setting sun.
-After I put Angel back into the stables I made my way back to the house. The only light guiding my way now was a large lamp post that came on like clock work at night. I watched as my boots sunk into the soft wet ground from the rain the morning before, I smiled a little. The noise of my favorite rocking chair filled the air. Scared I circled the house without even a glance at the porch. When the noise stopped I proceeded to the porch. When I rounded the corner there was Sarah.
"Hello Rose."
The end
Or is it?
