"C'mon Jen. Let's go." I grabbed Jen's arm and started to drag her out of the club. She has attracted enough attention already.
"No! I want the drink!" She shouted and started to claw at my arms frantically. Seriously?
I've had enough of her tantrums. I picked her up over my shoulder and walked out of the club successfully. Yet, I had to put her back down when she started wailing and flinging her legs in the air wildly.
"Jen!" I shouted and she, thankfully, stopped.
"I just want the drink." She said slowly, her eyes started to twinkle as I saw fear in them. I got worried and hoped that she doesn't start crying.
"You want the drink right? Just follow me quietly and you'll get one. Ok?" I asked her as politely as I could.
"Ok!" She said and beamed brightly.
I looked up and searched for my car.
Shit man! Erick took my car, again!
******
"Shine bright! Tonight! You and I!" Jen walked ahead of me, taking uncoordinated steps, screaming to the night sky above us as we walked slowly along the highway. Thank goodness I was behind her because I had to laugh silently to myself. A drunk Jen is very amusing.
I shoved my hands in my pockets and walked behind her slowly, continuously looking back to check if there was a car coming.
"We're beautiful! Like diamonds in the sky!" She screeched again and man was she loud!
Suddenly, she stopped and turned around.
"Ryan?" She asked in a pout.
"Yeah?"
"Are there diamonds in the sky?"
"No . . . " I said slowly and walked up to her. I grabbed her hand and started to walk with her further.
"Then why did Rihana lie? There's no diamonds in the sky." She made a sad face.
"I don't know why she lied, Jen." I said with a smile. Jen started to flap her arms up and down and she started humming to I Believe I Can Fly. I smiled to myself secretly and tired my best to suppress a laugh. A rock came into my way and I kicked it, sending it to the side of the road.
"No!" Jen screamed and charged ahead.
What the heck! I ran after her in panic.
"What happened?!" I asked and held her shoulder as she kneeled on the road and searched for something.
"Jen, what is it?" She grabbed the rock I had kicked a while ago and held it in her hand securely as it she was holding a baby instead.
"Are you ok?"
She turned to look at me with teary eyes, still clutching to the rock.
"You destroyed Patrick's house!" She said in anger.
"What?" I asked. I had to. Patrick who? That fake pink starfish? She has to be kidding me!
"You destroyed his home! Now say sorry to him." She said and looked at me angrily.
"Don't be stupid, Jen. Let's go. Come on." I said and started for her hand when she stood up immediately and grabbed me by the collar.
"Say sorry!" She yelled, burning her eyes into mine.
"Ok! Fine!" I said in defeat.
"I'm sorry." I looked at one random spot on the ground and Jen stared back at me in disappointment.
