Ryan's POV :
"Is it just me or is this starting to lose it's charm?" I whispered, a grin forming spontaneously on my face. Mel's eyes opened in alarm to stare back into my eyes, confused, but as my words sank in, her confusion diminished to an unfamiliar loathing toward me making me feel weirdly satisfied.
I took one huge step away from her, the smile never leaving my face. "I guess I'll give Jen a call. Ask her to give me a little kiss." I shrugged innocently. "And a little make out session with a lot of naked skin and a lot of touching. Yeah, that'll be great." I watched her stand still, her lips which had been parted in anticipation of a kiss just a few seconds ago now remained tightly closed.
Without a word, Mel walked away.
Now that I think about it, I really do want a make out session with Jen.
I turned around and got back into my car. The events in the school, not being able to disclose my failed attempt of giving up smoking to Jen and this meeting with Mel made me tired. I just wanted to go home and watch some nonsense crap on the television until I fall asleep.
**********
I inserted the key to main door of the house. At that instant, I heard a noise from inside the house. I stopped jingling the keys for a moment, thinking that maybe the keys had made that sound but the noise came again, like the falling on spoons and forks. It was six in the evening, Dad does not arrive home until eight. Then where is this noise coming from? I twisted the keys and opened the door, grabbing an umbrella from the stand near the door and entered the house slowly.
As I furthered in, I heard the faint voice of someone singing. I would be absolutely lying if I said I wasn't scared to death. It seemed like the sound was coming from the kitchen, I peeked inside, anticipating to see a burglar, my hands gripping tightly onto the umbrella but to my surprise and dismay, inside stood a lady.
I loosened my grip on the umbrella when I saw the familiar light brown hair tied in a loose bun. Looks like there's going to be no action. I slowly entered the kitchen, trying not to make a sound and when I stood behind the lady, I brought my face close to her ear and gave out a loud, manly shriek.
"Oh my God!" I heard her yell and she turned around, startled. "Ryan!" She slapped my shoulder but I continued to smile at her. With the beating done, she gave me a bone crushing hug.
"Yeah, stop it." I managed to say. She smelled of dough and honey which got me into thinking what we would have for dinner.
"Stop it, Anne!" At the sound of her name, she moved away but her hands were still on my arms. She looked at me sternly, but the happiness never left her glinting eyes. "How many times do I have to tell you not to call me by my name?" She turned around and started mixing some doughy substance in a bowl real fast.
"You want me to call you Aunt Mary Anne?" I raised my eyebrow at her mockingly. "Well, aren't you happy to see me. What's up?" She leaned forward, and despite her being my aunt, she looked young for the title. She's one fine, sexy aunt with a tall height and a really good fashion sense, she seems more like my elder sister.
"What? I'm just happy to see you, more food to eat." I said boredly and dipped my finger into the bowl, scooped the dough and ate it. "Urgh! That's disgusting! What happened to your cooking Aunt Mary Anne?" I joked. "Shut up, you brat!" She placed her finger on my forehead and pushed me away.
"I guess I'll have to eat cereal everyday now." I gave an exaggerated sigh and started to walk away.
"Wait." I heard her say. I looked at her to see her stare back at me suspiciously.
