"Ms. Ventiquae. Please let me work with Josh. I want to work with someone who would actually work with me instead of just sitting and look pretty." Said Gabbie trying to convince Ms. Ventiquae.
"Yeah me too. Jessica's a pain. And wouldn't you like to see what work Jessica and Alex can do on their own?" Added Josh.
They had been trying to convince Ms. Ventiquae since morning. But they had failed to do so.
"I'll ask Alex and Jessica in class. You may leave."
"But.." Said Josh
"Mr. Watson, if you don't have any detention you'd leave."
Gabbie pulled Josh from her office all the way to her locker.
"We'll see in Drama." She said as she collected books for a class.
Gail walked towards them. They hadn't seen her in a while.
"Don't forget about tonight. Am I understood?" She reminded them
"Yes ma'am." Said Josh jokingly.
"Chill Gail. It all under control. I say you head to the cafeteria and get yourself a nice hot cocoa."
Gail nodded as she head towards the cafeteria.
"Please do remind Tara and Chris. I haven't seen them in a while." Gail shouted as she walked.
"Yeah where are Tara and Chris? I haven't seen them since lunch yesterday?" She said to Josh.
Josh just shrugged. He knew where they were but Tara told him not to spill to anyone. Chris and Josh had become pretty good friends after the room 666 incident.
Gabbie noticed Josh was deep thinking.
"You do know something!" Said Gabbie holding on to Josh's collar.
Apparently Gabbie had no idea what she said in her sleep last night, so Josh wasn't sure of her feelings. And seemed like Gabbie just wanted to be friends.
"I swear I do" he said crossing his fingers at the back
Gabbie made the 'I got my eye on you' signal with her two fingers and walked off to class.
Chris had a free period so he ran down to the basement. He opened the art supplies room, room 664.
He walked in on something not very pleasant. Tara and Chris kissing. That's right, Chris Mathews had finally gotten his dream girl.
(This is a flashback)
Yesterday when Tara had ran out of room 666, she had gone into room 664 to cry her heart out.
She always wanted to tell her friends about her little secret, but she was afraid they'll judge her. Tara had great ideas for the world but they never left her head because of fear of judgemental people.
(It is true though. No matter how many times you humans say you do not judge, you do no matter how much you try not to. Misunderstandings have ruined people's lives, think before you act. But what can I say, all I do is run)
"Tara are you okay?" Asked Chris
"Do I look okay? Just leave me alone." She said as she dug her head between her chest and knees in a corner of the room.
"Tara. Come on you're the Troublemaker! Be yourself." He said taking place next to her.
"I'm not supposed to be like that! Why can't people understand that a girl like me can do things like the Troublemaker. I'm just the school's sweetheart who kisses every teacher's butt now aren't I? Well I'm not! Don't judge me by what I look like, in fact don't even judge me. Only God can judge me!" She said as though she was talking to a group of people.
Chris held her hand as she sat upright.
"Always remember Tara. I'm with you, thick or thin." He said looking right into her beautiful eyes.
Tara couldn't help it anymore. She pulled Chris into a big right hug and as they looked at each other after pulling away, Chris slowly tilted his face and move closer until he gave Tara the softest and gentlest kiss he could give.
Tara responded well and was really happy that Chris liked her (well she already knew).
"I love you Tara."
"I love you too." she said but saw there was someone who was watching from behind. It was Josh! Tara knew Josh liked Gabbie but why was he so shocked to see Chris and her together? And then it hit her.
"You're the Troublemaker?" said Josh with an adorable yet shocked face.
Chris turned around to see Josh. And that's when they explained everything to him and he became part of the secret.
(Back to present)
"Tara, I know I promised but I can't keep up with Gabbie. She's suspicious." Said Josh as Tara gave Chris the sign to move over.
"Listen Josh, I know it's hard but please do it. Gabbie should not know." She said soothingly
"Not know what?" said a voice from the door. That's right folks, as cliché as it is, Gabbie was following Josh to see what he was up to.
"Oh snap." muttered Chris
"That... Chris and I are secretly dating!" Said Tara, which was the truth but half the truth.
(Half the truth is just as bad as a lie, truth reigns over all. Even if it may be hurtful, it's the reality of life. But what can I say? All I do is run...)
Gabbie first made a blank face as though she was absorbing all the information but then her face slowly came into a large, goofy, yet adorable toothy grin.
"I knew it! The way that goofball looked at you, I knew something was fishy!!" She said jumping around Tara.
"I'm right here..." said Chris but no one was paying attention to him
"And you!" she pointed at Josh which scared the hell out of him, "You knew all this time..."
Oh boy, now's the part when Gabbie screams at you, he thought as he nodded
"I never knew YOU were so romantic" she said, "Supporting a forbidden love. which is not that forbidden. Why did you hide it from me?" she added to see Tara flinch.
"Um... because- a- Chris... is an idiot! Like you said he's a goofball. But I love him anyway." she said internally praising herself for the lie
"Again, I'm right here!"
Gabbie was satisfied, and really happy. She waved off and head too her class. But then she saw Gail come out of room 666 with a box.
"Gail. Are those the gold wires?"
Gail was shocked to see Gabbie. She didn't want her to know.
"No. These are titanium bolts, just for precaution. Arthur said Gustave Eiffel had some." she said, again half true.
"Whatever. See you tonight!" she said as she happily skipped across the sleeping guard and towards her class.
Gail on the other hand went off to the chemistry lab.
Hang in there Rocky. I will bust you out by today! she thought as she head back to work. Her plans were of well heart, but not thought through well.
