I quickly mumbled my address and the bike roared to life. I didn't talk to him and he didn't try to make conversation either and we settled down into a comfortable silence.
I could not believe my friends did that to me. It might be something small for others, but for me it was a huge thing. I was really hurt by them.
I have been sheltered all my life, by my family. I was not allowed to experience pain in my life of 20 years. You can call me pampered or spoilt. It is what it is. There used to be problems at home, but I was never touched by those, my family made sure of it. So being protected all my life, I didn't know the world around me. I didn't know who was friends with me for me or if they were just using me. This inexperience made me suspicious of everyone and everything around me. It even made me suspicious of the person in front, who had taken an unnatural liking towards me. He wasn't the first boy to show interest in me. He wasn't like the other boys, he was more of a man already. Most importantly, he was the first male I was actually interested in, which scared me. My heart wanted me to trust him, while my head asked me to stay a country away from him. All these things made the situation with my friends all the more painful.
The bike jolted to a stop and I became aware of my surroundings. I looked around puzzled as this was not even close to my home.
"Why did we stop?" I asked, confused.
"Get down." He ordered.
I narrowed my eyes at him and crossed my arms. How dare he order me around? I didn't make any move to get down and he turned around impatiently, to look at me. When he saw me pissed, he smirked at me. He proceeded to get off of the bike, with me still on it. My eyes widened with panic when I realized that I was going to fall and I clutched his shoulders to save myself.
"Now, are you going to get down?" He asked, smirking.
I glared at him and got off the bike. I straightened my duppatta and bag and finally looked up to see the board 'Corner House' in front of me.
"Why are we here?" I looked at him puzzled.
"I thought you would want to eat some ice cream." He said.
I continued to look at him with my eyebrows raised, which made him uncomfortable.
"You know, after the stunt your friends pulled." He explained, running his hands through his hair nervously. I realized that he shared this trait with his brother.
I still didn't say anything, which frustrated him.
"Ughh. What? Don't girls eat ice cream when they are upset." He growled out. He looked so cute and adorable with his eyebrows furrowed and lips pinched in nervousness. This man, who was so cocky and confident was actually nervous in front of me, right now. I hid my smile.
"Thank you for the gesture. I really appreciate it, but, I need to get home. It's late already." I said, softly, ending his torment.
He relaxed and said, "Why do you worry so much? I'm here. I'll take you home safe and sound."
I felt myself melting right there, on the pavement. He was getting through the walls I had built around my heart, certain that no one could break them. I can't do this. I looked at him and realized that he had the potential to break my heart.
"I want to go home." I pouted.
I could see that his patience was wearing thin. I was really surprised that he was so patient with me till now, being the short tempered person he is. He walked towards me with his eyes boring into mine. The back of my legs hit his bike, I had been unconsciously moving backwards, when I saw him advance. I started fidgeting with the strap of my bag, finding no ways to escape. He put both of his hands on the bike, effectively caging me, bringing his face very close to mine, in the process. I could feel his breath on my face. Blood rushed to me face and I felt my cheeks heating up. I was lost in his eyes.
"what are you doing? There are people around." I squeaked out.
His eyes darted to my lips and back to my eyes . "Pout at me again, I swear to god...." He growled out, dangerously.
I gulped nervously, not able to take my eyes away from his. I exhaled loudly, when he finally moved away from me. I had not realized that I had been holding my breath for sometime. Without a word, he took my hand in his and pulled me towards Ice cream parlor.
I felt my lips forming into a pout due to his manhandling ways, when his warning flashed into my mind. I felt shivers run down my spine and quickly, before he could see it, righted my lips and let him drag me into Corner House.
