Diya POV

I stood beside Dev and tried to control the warmth spreading all over my face. He was the only guy who could actually make me blush. We were at McD, looking at the menu waiting for Abhi and Ana to catch up. I hope Ana is not mad at me because of this, I thought worriedly.  I know she feels uncomfortable with new people and she's only tolerating it for me. That's why we are best friends, I thought happily. It's for her benefit too as she needs to come out of her shell. 

Dev  moved a bit closer to me to look at the menu and our hands brushed, which made warmth explode all over my body. He didn't pull his hand away and neither did I, which made me smile. I peeked at him to see that he was smiling too. Sam's face flashed in my mind and my smile vanished. I immediately pulled my hand away and looked away guiltily. What the hell was I doing? I have a boyfriend. I can't lead Dev on. Do I have feelings for both of them. What am I going to do??!!! I panicked.

"Diya?" Ana said, shaking me. 

I blinked at her and asked, "What?" 

"You zoned out. We have been calling your name for the past few minutes." She said, worried.

"Are you okay?" Dev asked, concerned. 

I smiled at them and said, "I'm fine. Just thinking about something. Let's go eat. I'm hungry." 

I could see that they didn't buy it. Ana looked at me meaningfully.  She would expect a detailed explanation later. 

I sighed and followed them.

Dev being a gentleman pulled out a seat for me to sit and I blushed while taking a seat and mumbled, "Thank you."

  Ana gave me a knowing smile and looked at Abhi expectantly. But, Abhi  sat down and tore into his burger which earned him a glare from his brother and a wistful look from  Ana. 

"What?" he asked, when he found us staring at him.  

"You could atleast be a gentleman and pull out the seat for Ana." Dev said, smacking him on the head. 

Ana sat down beside me and started eating, silently, looking at the table, a bit embarrassed. 

"No offence, but, all that is  reserved for one special girl." He said, arrogantly. 

"You are an ass." Dev said as he sat in front of me and looked at Ana with concern.  

"What did I do?" Abhi asked.

"Forget it." Dev hissed and sipped his drink. 

I saw Abhi's eyes shine with mischief when he looked at Ana who was looking at the table, a bit sad. He looked at me next and I glared at him for troubling my friend and he smiled cheekily at me. He had not pulled out the chair for her, on purpose. 

My cell rang and I looked at the screen and groaned. 

"Hello,  Bhai (bro)." I said. 

"Where are you?" Madhu asked.

"Actually, I went for a movie with Ana." I said, closing my eyes waiting for him to yell at me. 

"What??!!!! You are telling me now. Why didn't you tell before going? What about your classes?" He yelled, right on cue. 

"We didn't want to go today. Classes were not that important." I said.

"That's not the point. You missed classes. If you get low scores this time, I will not allow you to ride your vehicle and I want you home right now!" He said, angrily and cut the call. 

"Ugghhhh. I hate my brother" I said, angrily.

Ana stood up, waiting for me. She knew what  my brother would have said and his commands for me to get home.

"We have to go. I need to go home right now or my brother will kill me." I said. 

Dev's face fell at that and dejectedly he got up.  

"You guys go ahead, I need to finish my food."Abhi said,eating away without a care. 

I began to second guess myself about him being right for Ana. He didn't even care right now that we were leaving and he made no move to say goodbye or walk us outside.  We said our goodbyes and made our way to the parking. I made Dev stay back and not come with us, since his brother was inside. I turned back and saw Abhi looking at Ana with such intent and longing that , all my doubts about his feelings for her, vanished. If only my stubborn friend would accept her feelings, yeah and pigs could fly. I giggled and turned back and walked away with my friend.

"Where were you yesterday?" An angry voice yelled at me. 

I was in the canteen with Ana and Afreen,  where Afreen was oohing and aaahing about yesterday's events and we were having fun teasing Ana. 

I turned around to see an angry Sam glaring at me.

"Are you deaf? Where were you yesterday? You don't come to college and you don't even tell me where you are and you don't answer my calls. What the hell!!" He said, angrily. 

I felt my anger boil, how dare he talk to me like that. "Why should I tell you anything? Do you let me know when you go somewhere. You know very well that I can't talk to you once I'm home." I hissed at him. 

"Don't turn this on me. Where were you yesterday?" He said, gritting his teeth.

"I went for a movie with Ana, Abhi and Dev." I said.

I saw his fists clench when I said Dev's name and without another word,  he walked away. 

I felt tears prick at the corners of my eyes. I know I should have told him. It wasn't a date and it's not like am doing something wrong, am I?
