DIYA
"I'm hungry. Where are they?" I asked for the hundredth time.
"Ana has texted. They'll be here in five minutes." Harshad said.
"Sam, let's go get something to eat by the time they come." I said.
"Wait. Let them also come. We'll all go together." Harsh said.
"Dude. We all know, whom you are waiting for." Harshad teased him and faint red tinted Harsh's face.
"Haha, Whatever dude." Harsh mumbled.
I pulled Sam with me as I was really hungry and was feeling a bit dizzy. I felt a migraine coming up.
There was long queue for KFC in the food court and we joined the line. After a long time, we placed the order and stood waiting for our order to be filled up. I started rubbing my temples to make the pain behind my eyes go away.
Sam looked at me worried and said, "You go back and sit with others. I'll get the food. Looks like, it's going to take some time. I think Ana must be here, by now."
I smiled and pecked him on his cheeks and left.
As I neared the table occupied by us, I saw Meghana there, but, Ana was nowhere to be found. I got worried. Was something wrong? I pulled out my phone to check if I had missed any calls or texts by her. I hadn't.
I marched up to the table and demanded, "Where's Ana?"
They all looked at me surprised, but my eyes were trained on the guilty ones of Meghana.
"My Scooter got punctured." Meghana, began.
"Then what are you doing here?" I asked, sarcastically.
She gulped and looked at Harshad.
He squared his shoulders and said, "I went to pick Meghu and we searched for a mechanic, but we couldn't find one. Ana is waiting near the scooter. So, we thought we will come here and all of us could go there."
I couldn't believe these selfish people. They couldn't find a mechanic in Bangalore!! My foot.
"You left her there all alone? How could you? Do you know what time it is? Its late and Its getting dark outside. She's been alone for almost half an hour." I lashed out at Meghana.
"Hey, don't talk to her like that." Harshad said, angrily.
"What's going on?" Sam asked, coming with my tray of food.
Before I could reply, I got a text. It was Abhi.
Your friend is safe with me or not so safe with me. :P Haha!! kidding.;) I'm just texting you to ask your permission and blessing to take your friend out, on an ice cream date.
P.S: I will take her even if you say no. :D
I smiled, relieved. She was okay. Then I kept staring at the phone and kept on smiling at the turn of events. I could see from my periphery Harsh, explaining things to Sam. I quickly typed out a reply.
Yes. You have my permission. You better get her home on time, Abhimanyu and you better not trouble her:P:P By the way, Is she okay?
Abhi: Yes ma'am, I'll get her home on time and I will try my level best not to trouble her. ;) Hehe. She's okay, a bit upset. By the way, you guys have lousy friends.
I will take your leave now. I have something very important to take care of. ;)
I sighed thinking, he's good for her.
I saw Sam arguing with Harshad. I knew he was upset that they left Ana alone. Sam just shook his head at Harshad and said to me, "Come on. Let's go get Ana. She must have been waiting for a long time. Meghana, call Ana and tell her we are coming."
Meghana called Ana, " Hey Ana."
I could guess that Ana was asking them, where they are.
"Sorry, Ana. We went in search of the mechanic and now, we are at the mall with the others. We will come there in 5 minutes." Meghana said.
"She's going home." Meghana said after cutting the call.
"She must have felt bad, obviously. Wait, I'll call her and convince her to stay." Harsh said.
I stopped him. I didn't want him to spoil Ana's time with Abhi.
"No, wait. She texted me and told she's tired and she wants to go home. So, let her go home." I said, quickly.
Everyone reluctantly sat back in their seats. I didn't look at Harshad and Meghana after that.
Sam and Harsh were equally pissed at them and were ignoring them.
After sometime, Meghana and Harshad left mumbling an excuse about her scooter and the three of us could care less.
My mind wondered about what Ana was doing right now? I bet she would be damn nervous. I can't wait to get the details.
