Chapter Thirty One- It's You
"Don't you think he's acting just a little strange?" I pressed on asking the girls.
I had looked to my friends for advice about Mason. Since my heart to heart with Elliot two weeks ago, and reconciling with Raven, Mason had been withdrawn.
It seemed like we spent less and less time together. And he had been acting ver hot and cold lately. I was worried and I really needed the girls to ease my thoughts.
"No." Gaby shrugged, "Maybe he's on his man manstrual."
"What the hell is that?" I raised my eyebrow.
"His man period, Ally. Like when he cries all the time and all he wants to do all day is watch the real housewives of Atlanta and eat chocolate." Collins added scrolling through her phone.
That girl is always on her phone.
And what teenage girl isn't?
Me.
You're a part of my conscience you don't count.
"Who doesn't count?" Bri asked confused. Man I should stop talking to myself this is getting out of hand....
"Nothing- I- what were you saying about Mason again?" I stammered averting my eyes to the magazine I had in my hands.
"Maybe it's normal." Brie commented, "You two went through your honeymoon phase. This could be the end of it."
"So now he's just ignoring me?" I raised my eyebrow. I call bullshit, even when we weren't going out Mason always found time to annoy me.
"Think about it." Brie said, "You two went through a lot of trouble just to get together. He's harboured feelings for you since we were kids. You ignored him and were infatuated with Laine. Then when he did catch your attention-you hated his guts."
"He got wasted, wrecked the aquarium, and almost put a bunch of people out of their jobs." I remarked blandly. Brie rolled her eyes and shushed me.
"Let me finish would you! Anyway- that started your epic romance," she sighed dramatically.
"It's not that epic." I reorted.
"Hey guys I found this cool new book. It's about a girl who's life gets turned around in a matter of months. She loses her best friend when she goes out with her crush. Then her favorite place in the world gets trashed and in danger of closing forever. Ooh and there's two guys who really like her and surprise! She chooses the brooding bad boy but wait there's a catch! He knows that she's secretly adopted and is torn about it because he doesn't want to hurt her. Aww and then he helps her find her bio parents and they fall in love." Gaby rambled gushing about a new book she found.
It sounds interesting....
"What book is that?" I asked curiously. Gaby threw her pillow at me so it smacked the side of my head.
"It's called Confessions of a Bad Boy oh and it's your story." she replied blandly.
"I would never choose such a cliche title." I retorted crossing my arms.
"Get serious Al, Gaby has a point." Brie groaned rubbing her face tiredly.
I am not a handful....
"Point being?"
"You and Mason have had an exciting few months. Now things are starting to settle and the honeymoon phase is over." Brie explained.
"So are you saying our relationship was only driven on drama?" That was an unsettling fact. Did that mean I ran my course with Mase?
"No of course not, Ally Cat." Collins said softly, "It just means that you two won't be stuck at the hip. Reality sets in and there's still love."
