I laid in my bed as I watch a movie on Netflix. This movie named "Streets" played as I rubbed my stomach, feeling my baby kick. I find it crazy how this girl went through something similar to me. We both moved from our homes, having to get used to not having our normal environments around.
"Hey bae," Ray said, approaching me. I smiled. "Hey bae," I mocked him. He laughed. I giggled as he climbed into bed with me. He kissed my cheek, watching the movie with me.
"Oh, you watching Streets?" he asked. I nodded.
"I've seen this," he said.We watched the movie as he rubbed my belly.

"I find it so crazy how we're having a baby," I said smiling. He smiled. "I know."
We heard banging on the door downstairs. I knew my mom was gone for work and my sister was with her babysitter. I got up with Rayan right behind me. I looked out the peep hole to it being covered. We grew even more suspicious, looking at one another. BANG! BANG! BANG! There were more banging on the door as if someone was tryna break it down. I peeped out of the window and seen two men banging on the door with their feet. I noticed Meek behind them. I grew scared. I tapped Ray's shoulder.
"It's Meek and his dudes!" I whispered. "I know that bitch in there, break this motherfucker down," we heard Meek say. We both ran toward the back of the living room, hiding in a nearby closet as the door was kicked in. I peeped out of the crack of the closet, seeing the men scatter around the house. "Don't stop until you find the bitch!" Meek demanded.
I eased the door closed, as we sat in the closet. I grabbed my phone, turning a small light on.
"Through that door is a door out of here," I whispered, pointing to a door far back in the closet. Just as soon as we were about to head for the door, I heard my mom's voice.
"Who the hell are y'all?" she yelled. "Oh hey Ms. Lady," Meek smirked. I was about to burst out the door until Ray grabbed my arm. "No Courtney," he whispered. "What are y'all doing in my house?" she exclaimed. "This," Meek shot her in her forehead. I damn near screamed as Ray covered my mouth. "Y'all hear that?" Meek asked, looking around. "Naw g," one of the men spoke. "Keep looking," Meek waved the men off. I cried my eyes out, leaning onto Ray. "Let's go," Ray whispered into my ear. I sniffled, walking to the door. Ray opened the door, checking to see if anyone was near. Everything was clear. We climbed into my car. "Where's your keys?" he asked. "In my bedroom," I said crying. He sighed. "Alright, I need you to lay down and don't get up. Alright?" he asked. I nodded, laying across the arm rest and my seat. "I'll be as quick as I can Courtney," he said, getting out the car.
Several minutes passed as I was still waiting for Ray. "Momma," I cried out. I sobbed as I laid in the car. Ray jumped in. He had both of our phones, and two duffle bags. He tossed the bags in the back seat, cranking up the car. He pulled off, speeding down the street. "Are you okay?" he asked. I shook my head, sniffling. He sighed, rubbing my shoulder with his free hand. He looked into the rearview mirror and seen a black car following us. He sighed, getting on the free way. He traveled us full speed down the free way. As we traveled, I fell asleep.
I woke up the next morning to us at a gas station. Ray closed the gas pump, getting inside of the car with some McDonalds. He handed me a bag. I opened the bag, eating a chicken nugget.
"Ray, where are we?" I asked. "Nashville," he said. My eyes widened. "Ray, how did you drive us all the way to-" he cut me off. "Because we needed to leave Philly." I felt the emotion rise in me. "But my sister Ray," I cried. He sighed. "I'm sorry baby," was all he said. He drove us to a nearby subdivision.
"I got an auntie that's like my mother here, and she'll be who we're living with," Ray said. I nodded. We got out of the car, going up to the house. He knocked on the door. She opened it, looking at us both with concern. "Come in."
We went into the house, sitting on the couch.
"I'm sorry bout yo mama baeby," she said with a country accent. I nodded, looking down. "Ray go get y'all some clothes from upstairs," she pointed up the stairs. I heard him go up the steps. I sniffled, thinking about my mom. She sat next to me, wrapping her arm around my shoulder.
"You can look at me as yo auntie nah (now)," she said, pushing her long hair behind her back. I looked at her and smiled.
