Dear Amelie

I'm hoping that you decided to learn to become a hunter, it's a tough life, especially if you're not being properly trained. i hoped that when you turned 16, i would be able to train you and get the proper vampire training equipment, but as you know... stuff happened. so you have to train by yourself but with your book of shadows guidance it will be a lot easier. Think of it as a mini copy of me, with all my thoughts and teachings.

When we moved here there was a large abandoned warehouse, near the water at slate bridge, i knew that i would have to train you, so i bought it off privately from its old owners, a married couple that used to own a chain of boat warehouses, they were old and was cashing up all their properties so they could move away to somewhere nice for retirement. I bought it without your father knowing, all the deeds are connected to my back account which will be passed on to yours when you reach the proper age, before you worry about the price, i used the veneva money as it counted as training fees, not charles and my own money.

The building is sound proof as i had spent a few years fixing it up with some men from out of town- out of town because i didn't want lots of people to know about its existence. The walls have been fixed, the doors and the windows have been metal cased.

i expected curious explorers or thieves, or those delinquent kids i think you call 'urbexers' to try to take a peek inside or break in too graffiti, take photos, steal etcetera.. so i got some of the families greatest tech to make it more or less impenetrable, except maybe for a hybrid, or original, maybe even an ordinary vampire or werewolf due to the years it hasn't been touched.

Anyway there is a special key to get inside, it looks like an ordinary yare lock key but is square where the actual key should be, the square unlocks and the key twists to the shape of the lock, imagine it as a mini maze being filled with water? there is one door to get in, which is around the side of the warehouse close to the cliff wall. The key is technically not for the lock but for the vocal key, once the key is in it will unlock a voice lock, once you hear the key click you must say the word 'apertus' which is latin for open into the lock.

The key is behind the fridge in a small compartment, once again your father doesn't know of its existence, as i know he would never clean anyway near the kitchen, i hate keeping things as big as this from your father- or anything really, but that is the curse of this lifestyle, you must be shut off from the world, living your life in secrecy, much like that a vampire would.

Maybe one day you could tell him.

There is a low telepathic spell on it that makes people not interested in it, if they find it, it's like they know its there, but they don't care or they don't wanna know it's there. Anyway the key is wrapped in a blue cloth with darker blue embroidery, and blood stains from the years since it was my grandmothers, my mother (your grandmother) said that cloth saved her life.

My grandmother was on the run from a hybrid with my mother as a baby, she was staying at a tavern in a town waiting for my grandfather to come pick up the children so she could go out and look for this hybrid, but the hybrid found her first. My grandmother got seperated from my mother's other four siblings, who were still at the tavern as she was being chased by the hybrid with my mother, who was the youngest at the time till her younger twin siblings came a few years later.

While on the run she met an old gypsy, my mother was going to die from hypothermia, the old women- no one ever knew her name, saw my mother and wrapped the cloth that was previously on her head around my mother.
