1. Joy Of Being The Daughter Of The Woman I Hate The Most
Look, I didn't want to be the daughter of a world famous celebrity.
Well, a lot of people assume that it would have been exciting to have a celebrity like Georgia Fray for a mother. And you could say it is amazing... if you leave aside the fact that she has had an affair with almost every actor she has ever worked with. Not to forget, she is the woman who chooses never to talk about her children, ever, to the media; a woman who sent her son to live with her parents because she needed to focus on her career and didn't need to listen to any of his rants.
And now, a woman who had sent her daughter to a college that she wasn't even interested in, just because she wanted to prove that she controlled her life.
Yeah, it had been quite an amazing experience.
There were times I'd considered running away from her, away from the hell that she had put me through. But the fact that I had a roof over my head, and food to satisfy my hunger, made me wonder if my life was as bad as I thought it to be. So when I was given the opportunity to go off to college, I did.
And that is how I stand here, in front of the gate to my new home. A home, my brother has been studying and living in for the past two years.
My grand parents did everything for us, they thought it was a way to make up for our mother's sins. But they truly loved us and accepted my brother with open arms when Mom kicked him out. As soon as he told them that he was interested in going to RubyWoods, they sent him here, doing everything in their power to fulfil his wishes.
Unfortunately, I didn't get the privilege of being pampered by my grandparents and had to live my life with Umbridge.
Anyway, when Mom found out that my brother was at college, she got a terrific excuse to send me as far from her as possible, as soon as I finished school. Not that I had a problem with that; I had waited so patiently for this day to arrive, the day that I'd finally be free from her clutches, even if it meant just a tiny bit of freedom.
I pull myself out of the many thoughts that clutter my mind and look around me, my eyes searching for my brother. People stare at me as they pass by - it's just a blonde girl standing all alone with two bags, nervously tapping her foot while everyone is already entering the campus.
I struggle with my stroller bags, holding onto the handles with a tight grip and adjust my backpack so that I stand comfortably as I wait for my brother to show up.
"Madison!" I hear a voice call out to me and I turn in that direction to see my brother running towards me, grinning.
"Jason! Where the hell have you been?" I ask as I hug him tightly. I finally feel like I'm home. "I've missed you a lot."
"I've missed you too, Mads," he responds as he pulls away, ruffling my hair. I scrunch up my nose as I hit his arm away and he sticks his tongue out at me.
He's still as annoying as he has always been and I smile as I look up at him. I haven't met him in the past year and my eyes widen as I stare at him in shock. He looks taller, about 6'3 and his blonde hair have grown up to his shoulders.
"Gosh, you look horrible with that hair of yours," I tease him though he still looks as handsome as ever. Perks of having Georgia Fray for a mother. Joy!
