Look at me, trying to make up for a crappy chapter 31 by abandoning my studies and writing a new chapter. :) I really hope you guys like this.
32. Have a biscuit, Madison.
We win the tournament; 4-1.
I was surprised to see the opposite team perform so bad, considering the fact that they'd reached the finals. But it was a pretty good match, and for the first time I could say I actually enjoyed the nail-biting excitement. The football team - funded by the college - was throwing a party this weekend and that is all everyone could talk about.
Mrs. Harris, the Principal had handed over the trophy to Jason and honored all the teammates with medals. My eyes searched for Dad all the time but he was nowhere to be seen. I knew that Jason was way more disappointed than I was about Dad not showing up but none of us said a word.
Yesterday, Kay watched the entire wedding and couldn't stop talking about it. She said it was the most grand celebrity wedding - in some forested area, and some kind of adventurous theme. I didn't exactly understand what she was saying because I was trying hard not to pay attention.
And I realise how difficult it must be for Dad-to watch Mom getting married this way, starting a family like this, and forgetting about us completely.
I breathe slowly as I lay in bed staring at the ceiling, in the darkness and silence -the silence only being disturbed by the soft snores coming from Anna. I twist and turn and close my eyes but something keeps bugging me. I try to clear my head of thoughts, and I don't realise when I fall asleep.
"Do you love him?" He says as I look up at his blue eyes, gleaming in the sunlight.
I laugh and say, "I love you."
He gives me a lopsided smile and runs his fingers through his hair. "What about him?"
I frown, a confused expression on my face. "Who are you talking about?"
He shakes his head. "Never mind". He says and starts to walk away.
I take hold of his hand and he stops in his track, slowly turning towards me.
"Do you love me?" I ask, slowly, afraid of what answer he might give.
He smiles at me - a smile that reaches his eyes and he says. "I love you, Mads."
I close my eyes, a tear trickling down my face and I say, "I love you too, Finn."
But when I open my eyes, a stranger stands in front of me and I frown as I look around, searching for Finn's familiar face. The stranger smiles at me and holds out his hand.
I step back and yell, "Finn!"
"Mads!"
I jolt awake in bed as Anna sits at the edge, staring worriedly at me. "Are you okay?" She says, as she holds my right arm and I nod, slowly.
"I guess I'm fine, I was just-"
"Dreaming." She completes the sentence for me.
I swallow and look away - I remember the dream like it just happened. I usually forget my dreams as soon as I wake up, but this one was somehow etched into my mind. Every detail was so crystal clear, except the stranger - I can't seem to remember anything about him.
"Finn." Anna says, simply.
I look at her, surprised. "How did you know?"
She looks away and stares at the floor. "You said his name, that's why I woke you up."
