A/N: Just to clear the confusion. Liz(Elizabeth), Khushi and Susan are roommates and live in room 380 while Madison, Anna and Kay live in room 378. Also, Liz, Khushi, Susan have taken the same subjects as Madison so they'll be attending classes together. While Kay, Anna and Madison have just Literature and History together.
(I know there are a lot of characters and there might be a lot of confusion and you guys might go all "Who the hell is this person?" But hopefully as you continue reading, the characters will be clearer to you. If not, you can always ask. :))
Long chapter ahead. *sighs*
12. Pigeon Eggs
"He is so stupid." Liz mutters, as we walk towards the cafeteria.
"I can't believe we just stood silently when he said all of that." Khushi says, shaking her head.
"Honestly, I was too shocked to react." Susan admits.
I sigh. "It's okay guys. I can handle him."
Who am I even kidding? Who the hell can handle Tyler Watson?
"Yeah, you very well can. We all witnessed how well you handled him," Khushi mocks me and I give her one of those death stares that I've been practicing for life but they seem futile.
"But...Mads, how the hell did the two of you get paired up already?" Liz asks and I tell them everything that happened. They listen to me patiently, as we enter the cafeteria.
Just as I finish, I see Anna and Kay sitting at a table and we walk towards them. I introduce them to one another and all of them tend to get along pretty well. We chat about random stuff like our interests, until Anna brings up the topic of the music competition because she heard someone talking about it in the corridors.
"Who are you paired up with?" She asks me and before I can say a word, Khushi fills Kay and Anna on whatever they had missed.
Soon after that, Kay and Susan who are sitting next to each other, start giggling over something and look at me.
Frowning at them, Anna says, "That's so weird. She can't just pair you guys up like that without you'll wanting to work together!"
Everyone nod their head and I shrug.
"Or maybe," Kay starts to say. "Mrs. Anderson ships the two of you, like we do!" She finishes and Susan nudges her like she just let out a secret.
"WHAT EVEN?" I yell at them, my eyes wide in horror.
Susan and Kay look at me sheepishly.
"Yeah. I mean, come on, it always happens this way in the movies. The guy and the girl hate each other and then they fall for each other. It's just so romantic!" Susan says, dreamily and then continues her conversation with Kay.
The four of us, realists, look at the two of them, chatting away excitedly, maybe planning my wedding with the asshole jerk.
Liz, Khushi and Anna just shake their heads in disbelief. I don't think they're the ones in, for this bad boy romance.
Ignoring the two of them who plan my destruction, I say,"It's fine, I guess. I mean, it's just one competition. Tyler plays the guitar extremely well so I'll just consider it an advantage to be able to enter the competition with him."
It's the truth. I really want to win this competition because I want to prove it to mom that I'm capable of much more than she believes. I'm not 'good for nothing' like she keeps saying. I want to prove her wrong.
