THIS CHAPTER IS BADLY WRITTEN AND HASNT BEEN PROOF READ SO COULD BE FULL OF ERRORS. ( I type it out on my phone.)
21. The Empire Strikes Back
"It's Kay's birthday two days after the midterms," Liz says as we sit on the beds in my dorm room, after supper, in our night suits.
"Should we throw her a party?" Susan asks."Whatever we plan we have a long time to do it. I mean, it's like more than a month away."
"Yeah but we won't get time later," Khushi says, "we will be busy studying or busy with the competition."
"Yeah. That's why we can plan it now and after midterms it'll only be a matter of arranging stuff. Anyway," Liz continues impatiently, "I was wondering if we could plan a midnight picnic kind of thing in the gardens."
All of us look at her with our mouths wide open.
"Oh my god!" I squeak. "Like how they did in Malory Towers and St Clare's?"
Anna nods excitedly. "Yes! I've always wanted to do something like that!"
"But," Susan interrupts. "We aren't allowed to do that. If we get caught, we'd be in some serious trouble."
We frown at her as Khushi rolls her eyes. "There are no guards on that side of the campus. And Susie, haven't you ever gotten yourself into trouble in school?"
Susan looks sheepishly at us. "Um... no?"
"Teachers pet!" Khushi says immediately and Susan turns red.
"Oh come on! Shut up," Susan sulks and Khushi sticks her tongue out at her.
Liz shakes her head, annoyed. "Can we please focus?"
"Yes Ma'am!" Anna gives her a fake salute and we start to list down items that we'd need for the midnight picnic.
Midway, Khushi pauses and says, "We would have to invite the boys as well. I mean, there's no way we cannot invite Alex. He is her boyfriend."
Liz sighs. "I wanted this to be an all girls thing! But yeah, you're right. We'd have to invite the guys. Hope everyone's able to keep it a secret."
"Don't worry so much Liz. Everything will be fine," I say.
I take out my phone as it beeps and read the message.
Football team finalised. Coach has given me the list of names. Come by and make any "corrections" tomorrow. -Jason
When I show it to the others, everyone stops discussing Kay's birthday picnic and we sit in silence as we think of the possible embarrassing things that we could get printed on Tyler's jersey.
All of a sudden, Kay starts to sing.
"Do-Do-Dora,
Do-Do-Do-Dora,
Do-Do-Dora,
Do-Do-Do-Dora
Swiper no swiping,
Swiper no swiping,
Oh man!"She pauses as we all jump up and shout, "DORA THE EXPLORER!"
We all fall back on the bed, clutching our stomachs, laughing.
"This... is genius!" Anna says between breaths.
"Of course it is!" Susan says, gasping."Imagine Tyler running around in that jersey!"
All of us start to laugh and we continue to do so, picturing different funny scenarios in our head as Kay enters the room. She frowns at us but when we explain the whole plan, she joins in.
