"But thats not fair....I.."
"Next time, Marano."
"But....I don't want to work with him if he doesn't want to work with me!"
"Oh well. Deal with it."

It was a quiet day. It was one of those days where you felt like nothing was gonna happen, but something will happen. You know it. Laura was leaning against her truck-- but it wasn't actually hers.
A long time ago, she found this truck at the back of Ross' house. It was meant to be his, but she ended up stealing the truck.
The wind hit her exposed shoulders, as she shivered. She was trying to wait for the right moment for him to walk out of the school, and find out that she was waiting for him.
She was still recovering from the dream.
As she waited, she saw a figure walking towards her. "Hey." he said. It was a tall guy with black hair, and light skin. "Hey." she replies, not giving any eye contact. "My friends and I decided to invite you to a party.. We we're hoping you'd come. You can bring anyone you want..." he says, handing her a card. She looked up at his blue eyes.
"Okay. Thanks." she replies. He nods and walks away. She looked down at the card, then back up.
"Really? A party?" he asked. She turns around and found Ross leaning against the truck. She chuckled.
"As it is called."
"I see."
"Do you.. want to go?" she asked. He looked at her, then looked back down. "No."
"Why?"
"Because I don't party." he says simply, as if it we so easy. In which case-- it was.
"You should have some fun. I mean think of it. Life is too short. You gotta live a little!" she says, spinning around. "Look at the world Ross! Just look at it!"
She squats them both down, and she puts her hand on his shoulder.
"Look at the world Ross. Its amazing. What do you see?" she asked. He squints his eyes and looks around. "I see shit." he says. She rolled her eyes. "C'mon Ross."
He got up. "No thanks. No party for me. There are a lot more advantages than this party." he says.
"Like what?" she rolled her eyes, and looked at him again. He gave in a smirk.
"Meet me at 4 AM in front of my house." he says. "What do we have to do at 4 AM?" she asked him, getting inside the truck. She drove this time. Well, all the time because well...he was colored blind, and couldn't tell which was the stop sign or which was the go sign.
"A lot of things."
---------------------------------------
Laura crept in front of Ross' front door. He was at the front, smoking a cigarette. "Finally. You're here." he threw it on the floor, and stepped on it. "You smoke?"
"Of course I do. I've been doing it since I was 12." he says. "And you're not dead?"
"Not yet."
And they we're off.
---
The ride was silent. As Laura drove, Ross was working on something that she obviously couldn't see. She tried to peek, but she was driving. "Whatcha workin' on?" she asked. "Stuff." he replies back, and erased something on the paper. "What stuff?"
"A paper and a pencil."
"You know what I mean dumbo." she rolled her eyes. "I'm working on the English project." he says. "Do you need any help?" she asked, making a turn. "No. I've got it covered."
"But I'm tutoring you today."
"So? Tutor me on something else." he replies back.
Once they get to the house, he raced inside. She got out of the rusty truck, and raced after him.
"Whats the hurry?"
"I don't like outside."
She chuckled and rolled her eyes. "And why not?" she asked, sitting on the couch. He sat on a stool. "Well, A lot of things can happen outside. A lot of opportunities, but a lot of conflict." he states.
"Deep."
"Not really. Just stating the truth."
As time went by, it was finally time for the tutoring session. To be honest, Laura was slightly nervous about it. He was supposed to be the nervous one. Not her. But she was anyways. They both sat down at the round table, as she took out the large book, paper, and pencils. "Alright. "Today we're flipping to page 1." she says.
"I don't get it. This is the things." he says. "What is the thing?"
"Why start from the beginning, when you can start at the end?"
It was a question she had never encountered before as it seems.... obvious. At least to him.
"No words?" he asked.
"No words." she replies. He chuckled. "As you have seen it from my point of view."
