There she went.
She leaving again. Ross' body suddenly went cold, as he held the walkie talkie in his hand that radiated a great amount of static against his hand. It was the only thing he could feel -- keeping him out of his miserable thoughts.
I just wanted a normal high-school life --
"Ross- You there? You good?" he heard through the walkie talkie that made him jump. He sighed in relief. "Y-yeah....Just... be done with this damn thing.." he manages to reply to the voice in which he couldn't remember who was speaking to, and sunk into the seat of the car. He shut his eyes. Laura. Laura.
He furrowed his eyebrows. Why is he doing this? Why was he here? This isn't him. His whole body was aching. "This isn't me. Why do this all just for one person? I'm just.. God... What am I even doing..." he sighed out loud.. realizing how much pain he was actually in. This wasn't how he was imagining his spring break. T h i s was not it. He wanted to spend time with Laura... normal life in highschool.. Get a new therapist obviously.. But.. did he really need it?
Ross was interrupted by a bump against the van. He gulped and scurried quietly to the back, sinking into the darkness.
Bump.
Bump.
Bump.
A bead of sweat forms down his forehead as he hyperventilated, what could possibly be bumping the car? Who? His heart was pounding at the beat of the bumps, and suddenly, he hears a meow.
-----
Laura rested against a wall as her mother and Jack discussed what to do. Would life really be normal after this?
"Laura? Laura!" she suddenly hears the voice calling her. She snaps back into the real world, turning her head towards Jack. "Y-Yeah?"
"Stop. Getting. Distracted." he said with an attitude and a slight annoyance. "You have a job to do."
"I'm just... worried about Ross, thats all..." the brunette let out a tuneful laugh, painting a look of confusion and disgust on her face.
"You, worried about that freak? We all know he was just another puppet. Another one of the guys to just buy you some time.... until the next. And the next. Not long until you end up in the mental facility agai-"
"Guys, now this isn't the time to insult, banter, fight or do whatever it is you are doing right now! So quit it unless you want to get caught!"
"Not like we got anything to lose." Jack shrugged her off, walking towards carrie, still behind the wall. Her turned to Laura. "Or wait, do you now Laurie?"
"I said quiet!" she yelled-whispered. Laura scrunched up her nose in distress, feeling her ears getting hot. Her blood was boiling. How dare he.
"Do you even see your therapist anymore? How can a person who is seeing a therapist even BE a therapist anyway? Or a phony one in your case? God damn you're a fucking weirdo."
Don't let him get to you. He's just trying to manipulate you. Getting inside your head. Making you a laughing stalk. He's trying to make you suffer in your own mind. Without him touching you, or 'doing a thing.'
She's twitching.
"Alright, here's the plan, he works late night; so hes in the building currently a.k.a right now as we speak. Our plan is to attempt to kill him, well I WILL. And you will go on unscathed if unsuccesful."
"Right."
"Wait what?" Laura's eyebrows furrowed. "What do you mean, we just got you back and we cant just--"
"You'll see when it happens and when its done. Jack will explain everything. Just... You gotta just trust me on this okay?" Laura hesitated, but nodded a few seconds later. Her voice was shaky, but she replied with an, "O-okay."
"Good. Lets move." they we're crouched on the floor, hopping from hall way to hall way, room to room. The building was like a maze. "This place is fucked with cameras." Jack said under his breath.
"Halt! Who goes there!"
Jack chuckled under his breath. "What is this, some kind of medival bullshit?"
"Shut it!" Laura shushed him.
"We got a breaker on floor 6, isle 3, requesting backup." the man spoke into the walkie talkie that beeped in reply, meaning people would be coming. They had to move. Fast.
"Alright fucker, where the fuck are you?" the man mumbled, holding up his gun and stealthily walking by them --- he's failed to notice them hiding in the room he just walked by ; he's completely oblivious.
"Alright heres the deal, Laura is gonna go to isle 7, and create a noise and quickly get away so he can go over there, and we make a run for it." Jack whispers quietly and quickly. She almost couldn't hear him.
"Alright? Why me?"
"Just go."
Laura stealthed her way into isle 4, on her way to the end, until a flash of light halts her eye sight.
"Stop right there!" she froze in her tracks. Shit. "Move an inch you'll be dead on sight!"
Plan didn't go so well.
"RUN FOR IT!" she yells.
~
As they scurried off to a different floor, they heard the officers message booming across the whole building. "We got an intruder, I repeat, and intruder. Gender, female...."
By the end of the message, she knew they we're giving a pretty well written physical description of her.
"Don't they mean, intruderS? You know, since... its 3 people.. well 4 technically but.." he corrected. No response.
"bad timing?"
