Ross' heart skipped a beat. He hears the faint meow, along with the thudding against the van.

"A..meow?" he questions. He opened the the door, revealing the himilayan cat that was previously causing the disturbance. It seemed to be trying to jump into the gap of where the wheel is. Dangerous. What if the owners of the car start it up again and start driving?

Instant death.

Ross jumps out of the car, to address the feline in distress.

"Hi there." he greeted awkwardly to the animal, crouching down to its level. The cat meowed a responds, thudding its body against the car again. "You want to get in? Are you cold? It been a bit chilly today yeah... like the winter never lets go. Holds grudges...." he loses track of thought. The cat meows again, snapping him back immediately. "Right. He got inside the van, patting the platform. "Come on. Jump on in. I'm sure they wont mind. Maybe I can take you to a shelter. I can't keep you. Mom would never let me..." he sighed. The cat jumped on in, and he shut the door. It quickly relaxed into a corner right next to his legs, resulting a peacful sleep.

"I had a pet once, you know." he pet the purring furball. "Jumped out the bowl though."

He looked up and out the window. "Maybe I will too, soon."

What was she going to do.

"Laura, calm down. I'm sure they barely saw your face. They gave a brief description of what you look like, and it wasn't even that great to be honest; they can give out that description and it could be anyone down these streets." Jack for once attempted to comfort his sister who was in a panic mode. "I cannot believe this." she whispered.

"Laura, trust me." Carrie tuned in. Why does she keep saying that? "I've got everything under control here. You think I planned this thinking this wasn't going to happen? Especially you being new to this and all? I'm a run away prisoner for god sake. I know what i'm doing." she had a good point. But it didn't change the fact..

"Snap out of it. Business is business. We'll pay you, and the kid a load a cash when we're done. Mkay? I'll have the money transferred by tomorrow." he concluded, and got up from their crouched position. "Lets move it."

"His room is in floor 10." Carrie said.

As they arrived to floor ten, the whole floor was crawling with security.

Laura only followed and followed, lost in thought. Ross. How is he doing? I hope he's okay.

They came to a sudden stop, and Laura bumped into Jacks back, causing him to accidentally drop a smoke bom. "Jesus Laura!"

"Fuck fuck fuck sorry!" they heard 10 pairs of feet scurrying to their area.

"This is the room. Go in now!" he yelled. Carrie pushed the conveniently unlocked door, shouting as she held up a  gun at a man sitting at the desk. "I have you now!"

She felt a hard cold object pushed against her head. "No, we have you now."

"Run." she mouthed to them. "What about you?"

"Just go! Trust me okay?"

"Laura, get a move on." Jack grabbed her wrist, hurrying down the stairs as what sounded like an army of men was traveling towards the chaos. Just enough time to get away.

They rushed through the dark building, into the inky-like night as the fog built up in the sky. They hurried over to the van as Jack and Laura come in through the back and slam the doors shut. "Alright Ross. Drive."

"Me? I can't drive."

"JUST DRIVE! The police is gonna be RIGHT ON OUR ASS AGAIN IF WE DON'T MOVE!"

Ross started the engine, and gulped as the car moved quickly away.

Meow.

----

"Alright, question for you buddy boy. Why the fuck is there a god damn cat in my van?"

Ross stops the car. "Well, it was thumping against it, and its pretty chilly for some reason tonight and I just thought-"

"Oh shut the hell up. You crazy? Cant trust those things Bad luck." he snorted.

"I politely disagree." Ross remarks. Jack cracks out the loudest cackle. "I politely disagree. Oh my god you nerd." he snickers. "Laura, where did you find this guy?"  They both look at her.

"We just.. left her?" she seemed to be paralyzed. "You still thinking about that? She told you to trust her. God damn what have you done to her. You need alcohol-"

"I object on that suggestion.  She's on prohibition." Jack snorted in reply.

"Says who?"

"Says me. Her health is really is endanger  by the looks of it. So I really think getting her off alcohol and cigarettes is best-"

"Shut it. I've had enough of you for today. You make my brain hurt. I'm taking the wheel loser get off the seat." Ross moves to the passenger seat, where Carrie once sat. Before they started moving, Ross moved to the back where Laura was at, sitting by her. The van began to move again, as the GPS said Ross' address. "Turn right on _____ street."

"Why 'can't' you drive anyway? Seemed fine to me." he bugged him once more.

"Whats it to you?" he said with attitude.

"Now your speaking my language kid."

"Colored blind. I can't see the color of the lights now can I?"

"Oh..."

"Oh." he mimicked. He turned to Laura.

"Hey..." he called in a whisper. She was down, lost in her own mind. "Wanna have sex when we get back?" she looked up with widened eyes. "Ross!"

"Hah, I knew that would snap you out of it. I was joking. Don't panic." he cracked a smile, forming into laughter. It wasn't panic.

"Damn don't play me like that." she pushed him in a joking way. "I was looking forward to it."

"Hah. Yeah right. Virgin like me? LOL."

"Turn left, on, _____ street."

"Can you guys.. not, while i'm driving. This sounds like a cheesy start to a porn video." Jack chimmed in, turning left. The cat rested in the passenger seat, peacefully. Laura laughed in response. "Shut up weasel. You're just mad you haven't had a girlfriend in like centuries."

"Watch it. You're in my van."

"You have reached your destination."

"Aaaaand now we're not."
