-Jaime POV-

Staring out the class room window, all I can think about was going to the Cave and finally see Tiffany again. It's been a while since we've seen each other and I need to see her.

"Dude! Pay attention! You're falling asleep!" whispered Tye who was sitting right behind me. I hate math.

When the last bell finally rang for school to end, I ran out the door and was riding the pavement to the Zeta Tube in seconds.

I opened the phone booth door and transported to the east side of America.

I stumbled out and examined the room, looking for Tiffany.

"Her-man-o! Its been a long time since we've seen you!" Said Bart, suited up as Impulse. "Stop calling me that. Thats my thing! And why are you dressed as Impulse? Where's Kid Flash?"

"What?" He looked down at his suit. "Wrong one. I'll be back!"

I reached out to him and asked,"Wait! Where's-"

"Firestorm? Gone on a mission with B.B and Miss.Martian. They won't be back for a day." My arms fell to my side, a frown forming on my face. Great.

"Got it." I said quietly.

"Blue! We need you and Bart to stop Doctor Light at the Star City Bank." I suited up and nodded. Bart appeared at my side dressed as the Kid Flash.

"Alright. See you soon guys." Said Karen, turning back to the computer screen.

"Light is totally going to feel the mode." exclaimed Bart as we Zeta to Star City. "It's just Doctor Light dude."

We arrived back at the Cave about a hour later to just Mal at the Cave.

"Where everyone go? No ones here."

"Yep. They're all on missions or just living life." mumbled Mal. He seemed preoccupied with something else on the Super Computer.

"Guess it's just us, huh Blue!"

I unsuited and sat on the couch, closing my eyes. "I guess so, ese."

"What's up with you and Fire? You guys haven't been hanging around as much."

"We're okay. I have school and she kinda tied up with something personal."

"Oh her mission thing? To Detroit? Me and Gar know already. You can say Gar's a little fly on the wall, huh?" I stood up in disguse and walked out. "Dude! Not cool! I'm going."

"Whatever then. All we know is that shes leaving in a week or so." I froze and turned around to face him. "A week?"

"I think so. I heard her and Batgirl talking about it, but i couldn't hear everything. But something about leaving in september?" He said questionably, clearly not remembering everything. "When she come back tomorrow morning, ask her."

I nodded slowly, "Yeah. I might." Rubbing my head, i walked back to the zeta-tubes and zeta back home. Leaving in a week? How come she didn't tell me? I couldn't help and feel something was wrong here and she wasn't telling me something important.

As i flew back to my house, i suddnely didn't feel like going home, thinking about the pile of homework I had to do. I needed to take my mind off of all of this. So i changed my course and headed to Tye's house.

------------------------------------

We rode around the city for about an hour and took a break on a park bench near the school.

"So dude, hows all this hero thing working out?"

"Good i guess. But hey, we do have open spots on the team! We can always use a someone like you. It be awesome. You and i fighing side by side. The two amigos." I said standing up, throwing imaginary punches in the air.

Tye just sighed and shook his head looking slightly annoyed, "Jaime, i've already told you no already. Hero thing isn't for me. And i thought Tiffany was your best friend."

"Yeah. But come on. Both of you guys are my best friends."

"Ha. Yeah i got it. How are you guys? When i met her at the skate park, she seemed really cool, but kinda distracted..."

I shuffled my feet uneasily. "It seems like everyone want to know. She, uh.. good. Theres a lot going on in her life, so shes pretty distant right now."

"Whats going on with her then?"

"Umm... lets just say, shes going somewhere that can get her killed and she is being her usual stubborn self and won't let anyone help her. Like me."

"You have school dude." I sighed in exasperation. "Come on! I need to keep her safe! She said she will think about if she will take me, but that was a little over a month ago. And I heard she's leaving in a week."

"She might not need someone. From what you've told me about her, you shouldn't be worried about her, you should be worried on the people around her. But i think she will take you." Tye said causally. "And if she's leaving in a week you need to be with her more, Jaime. That's my advice."

Even though Tye was right, I couldn't help and feel something was still off about all of this. I still wanted to to go with her and i agreed with Tye that she will take me. But I felt she was hiding something. Something important from the Team. From me.

But Tye wasn't the right person to be discussing that with. "I guess I should do something with her. What's today's date?" Tye pulled out his phone and checked.

"August 25. Why?" I grinned in response. "In two days, a special day is coming up and she probably doesn't even remember."

"If its so special, why wouldn't she remember it?"

"Because if you were her, your own birthday is the last thing you think about."
