-Jaime POV-
It's been almost a month since Tiffany and I last kissed. She has been busy training with Fire and Black Canary. And trouble has been brewing around. Aqualad told us to meet at the Watch Tower, so he can announce something important to all of us. Its been awhile since we all been in the same room. Since the Cave was destroyed, the Watch Tower has been where The Team and Justice League held meeting and assign missions. The people who had origianlly lived at the Cave now lived in a warehouse in Happy Harbor, which we remodeled.
"As some of you might know, mysterious objects have been decending from space." Aqualad pulled up pictures and videos on the Super Computer. "They have been falling from the sky for a while now, but we did not inform you on this until we felt like we needed to. At this time we feel you should be informed. We were able to get a picture of the objects up close." He pulled up a bigger picture of the object. It was oval sized, completely smooth except for the tiny engravings on the object.
*These engraving are from a planet i can not identify, Jaime Reyes. These rocks can be a threat to human kind.*
"Well duh hermano." I said quietly under my breath. Batgirl gave me a look that said pay attention or else.
"We have tried to get one of these rocks, so that we may test on it and maybe learn a little more about this before we take further action. But we have been told we can not. I have refused to take no for an answer. These are not your ordinary metors. We fear this can be from an alien species that we know close to nothing about. So i have esablished we 'borrow' a few of them. There are three rocks that have been put out on display at museums for the public to look at. We strongly think that two out of these three rocks are prototypes, but are not sure which is the real one. I will send a pair into those museums and carefully take those rocks. We will figure out which one is real, and return the false ones back into the museums. Is that understood?" Everyone nodded their heads.
"Great. I've already assign who will go. First museum, The Asian Art museum in San Fransico..." Finally we get to go on missions again, even if they were only convert. I hope Aqualad choose me to go inside the museum.
"Last museum is The Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington D.C. Blue Beetle and Firestorm will go inside the museum and take the rock. A graduation ball will be held there the day you will go. You will have to dress in formal wear and mask. Covert mission only. This friday. Good luck to all. You may now leave." YES! Finally a mission, and with Tiffany.
I looked around for her and saw her walk into the garden. I ran to catch up with her. When i finally found her, she was standing in front of Kid Flash's memorial. She was standing with her arms crossed and her head down. She looked sad. I walked over to her and tapped her shoulder.
"He was a really cool guy, and a really cool hero. So were all of the others." She looked down the line of the people who had fallen in battle. Two to the left was Ted Cord. We both walked down over there.
"Ted Cord. The second Blue Beetle yeah?"
"Yeah. It sucks though. The world will never know about Ted Cord's sacirfice. The hand ful of people who seen me in action think i'm this guy in a new suit." This subject always really bothered me and made me mad. Tiffany could tell and was trying to calm me down.
"But you know! And all of us do too."
"Its such a totally rip. You've only been on the team for like 2 months and in the first week you got a mentor that teached you everything you need to know about your powers. Me, i never even got to meet the man who was suppose to be my mentor."
"Jaime. It's okay. You can't change what happen to him. You're the Blue Beetle now and thats all that matters." She took my hands and held it in hers. "Let's change the subject. Like about how i finally got assigned my first misson, and its with you?" She said hopefully with a smile on her face. Seeing her this happy made me smile.
"You're right. Let's go talk about our mission at the headquarters, how about that?"
-Tiffany POV-
30 minutes we were sitting on my bed room floor, planning out our mission. We learned Miss. Martin, Artemis, and Robin will be waiting for us in the Bio Ship to help navigate inside the building and help incase of emergancy. Everything was just about planned, except for what we were going to wear.
"So everything is all planned out, but we need to disguise ourselves to we don't stick out. What color are you going to wear, Fire?" Jaime asked me.
"Marron and black. My colors."
"I was hoping you would say blue." He said jokely.
"Next time babe. Next time." I was sitting in the chair across my room looking at him. He was sitting on the floor looking at the map i drew of the museum.
"You're good at drawing maps. How you get so good?"
"I draw a map of all the cities i stayed in so when i ran away, i knew where i was going. There's this warehouse I stayed in until I needed to get a move on. Its a pretty tough place. Maybe one day, i'll tell you about it." I touch the scar on my face. It was never going away.
"You're just a big mystery, Tiffany. But with all seriousness, I can't wait to go on this mission and see you do your thing. Its your first mission. And its with me."
"Yes, love i know. Lets just hope nothing goes wrong.
