Chapter 17
“Good morning my lovelies!” Brooke called happily as she shoved my bedroom door open. I groaned and pulled the covers closer to my body. I snuggled into them happily; they felt much warmer than normal for some reason, but I wasn’t complaining.
“Let’s get some light in here, shall we?” Brooke asked, moving toward the window. She quickly threw open the curtains, laughing as I groaned again and pulled the covers over my head. As I did, I brushed up against something that was warm and soft.
“Oh my gosh. Tyson! What is your arm doing around me? GET IT OFF!” I screamed, waking Tyson up pretty quickly.
“What the?” he asked as I slapped his arm away and stood up. “What happened? What’s with the yelling?”
Brooke stepped forward for that one. “Well, it looks like the two of you fell asleep together last night. It also looks like you wanted to snuggle in the middle of the night, my dear Prince.”
“I’m sorry Marina! I didn’t know I was doing that,” Tyson said, his eyes pleading with me not to be mad. But I wasn’t mad, not really. I mean, I was upset and embarrassed, but not mad. I was more upset that I had let that happen than anything else. We’d just become friends, and then we went straight to that? Sure, nothing happened, but still! I had wanted to but friendly, but not like that.
“It’s fine Tyson,” I said, not wanting to ruin our newfound and rickety friendship.
“You two should get cleaned up. Pierce and I thought we could go out and do something today since you were stuck in here all day yesterday,” Brooke broke back into the conversation with a grin.
“Yeah, remind me to kill you for that later,” I said, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes and walking over to the closet to pick out some clothes.
“When you kill her, I’ll kill Pierce,” Tyson called to me from my bedroom. I could hear him moving around as I dug through my closet. “Sound good Princess?”
“Sounds great!” I called back. As I did, I found myself a bright pink tank top, denim shorts, and underclothes. Before leaving the closet, I made sure that my underclothes were well hidden within my other clothes. Even if Tyson and I were to be married, I wasn’t comfortable with him seeing that much.
“I’m going to go shower,” I told Tyson and Brooke as I walked back into my bedroom.
“Same here,” Tyson said, getting out of my bed and walking to his bedroom door.
“I, on the other hand, am going downstairs. Pierce is trying to pick somewhere for us to go for breakfast.”
“Go help him,” Tyson and I said in unison.
“I’m sure he’ll appreciate the vote of confidence from the royal couple. Now go get ready, both of you,” Brooke said with a grin as she left the room.
“She didn’t need to tell me twice. As soon as she said breakfast, I was sold,” I said with a grin as I walked into my bathroom and sat my clothes down on the counter.
“You’re definitely not the kind of Princess I was expecting,” Tyson said with a smile. I frowned.
“I thought we already talked about that.”
“We did. But I have a feeling that you’ll continue to surprise me,” he said with a slight shake of his head.
I grinned, “I sure hope so. I plan to keep you on your toes forever, even after we’re married.”
