Chapter 15

Since Tyson had already said that he was going to shower, I decided that I would too. Since I had to spend an entire day with my soon to be husband, I might as well be cleanl. We already had such a strange relationship; I didn't want m to think that I didn't care about my hygiene on top of everything else going on with us. As much as I hated to admit it, I did want him to like me somewhat, at least not hate me.

After I showered and used magic to dry my hair, I sat on my bed and got out my new laptop, thankful that I had thought to take it up to my bedroom the night before. I had no clue what Tyson and I would do all day to keep ourselves entertained, but at least I had the computer. That was something that made me feel a little better.

A few minutes later, I still hadn't heard from Tyson, so I went over and knocked on the door between our rooms.

"Are you still in the shower?" I yelled, absolutely sure that he could hear me.

"Yes!" He yelled back at me, sounding angry.

"Aren't the girls supposed to be the ones who take longer in the shower?" I yelled back to him, laughing soft enough that I knew he couldn't hear me.

"They do!" He yelled, this time sounding even more angry.

"Apparently not my prince! I showered, got dressed, and dried my hair before you even finished showering." I called, hearing him grunt. I put my ear to the door, and heard him grunt. I put my ear to the door, and heard him turn the water off. I tried to laught quietly, but there was no way I could. I was sure that he could hear me. Suddenly, my stomach growled.

"I hope you hurry up and finish soon because I'm hungry." I said loudly, hearing Tyson moving around in his room.

"I'll be ready when I'm ready!" He yelled angrily. I knew that I was only succeeding in making him mad, but I just couldn't help it. He was just so easy to annoy.

I sighed and sat down next to the door. Since it took Tyson forever just to shower, I figured that it would be a while before he was completely ready. So, I leaned back onto the door, crossing my arms and legs.

A few minutes later when the door opened, I realized that I had forgotten something. I forgot that even though the door's lock was on my side of the door, it opened into Tyson's room. So when he opened the door, I fell backward right onto his feet. I groaned slightly, pushing myself up without any help from Tyson.

"Why were you sitting there?" Tyson asked, without any concern in his deep voice, which I hadn't noticed before.

"I told you that I was hungry." I said evenly, getting completely off the floor and turning to look at him. "Can we eat now?"

"Fine." He said, leaving the door halfway open and going into his closet. He returned carrying the large microwave in his arms, which he plugged in and sat on an end table next to his couch. "What are we eating?"

"Oh, I don't know. Let's go look in the mini fridge in my closet and see what food Pierce and Brooke left for us." I said, going back into my room. I went into my closet and kneeled next to the mini fridge where it was plugged in on the floor. Tyson came in right behind me and stood by the door with his arms crossed over his chest.

I opened the fridge and started telling Tyson all of its contents. "We have some leftover pizza, leftover spaghetti, leftover steak and stuff to go with that, and some drinks. There's a few little things, but that's pretty much it. I guess that we don't have much to choose from." I told him. "What do you want to eat?" I asked. Tyson said nothing, so I turned to look at him. He was looking all around the closet at the clothes hanging up, which wasn't very much.

"Where's all if your dresses? What about all of the fancy girls things?" He asked with slight amazement. "You're a princess, you're supposed to have all of the fancy dresses and stuff." I sighed, standing up and looking at him.

"If you knew anything about me you could answer that yourself. If you had only taken a few minutes to get to know me just a little bit, that would have been one of the first things I would have told you." I said, turning back to the mini fridge again. "Now what do you want to eat?"

"Well I'm taking the time now. Back in the castle you dressed in the fancy dresses, and your hair was styled perfectly. Why haven't you done any of that here?" Tyson asked, grabbing my arm and making me turn to look at him.

"That's not me." I said, shaking off his girl and turning away from him. "I don't like all the dresses, the hairdos, and the makeup. I only use them because my mother forces me to. I don't act like a princess, and I'm sure that I will never act like a normal queen either. I know how to act all poised and perfect, but I never will." I turned back around and looked him in the eyes. "If you have a problem with that, too bad. Even if we are getting married, I'm not changing myself for you." I said, turning around and going back to the mini fridge. I opened the door and looked inside, even though I already knew what was there.

Tyson grabbed my arm gently and turned me around to face him once again. "Marina, you don't have to change anything for me." I laughed harshly.

"Yeah, right. You already hate me. N matter what you say now, you'll want me to change sometime, probably after we're married I'm sure." I said, shaking my head. "You'll want me to actually act normal for royalty, and you'll want me to be the perfect wife like my mother has tried to groom me to be."

"No, I won't. I may not be a great person, but I promise that I'm not that horrible. I don't want to make you miserable nice we're married." He said, softly laying a hand on my shoulder. I shook it off and shook my head.

"But you're ok with making me miserable until then?" I asked, and he had the good sense to look ashamed. "I have done nothing to you, and none of this is my fault. I wish that you'd get that through your thick skull." I frowned and shook my head. "I know I haven't been the nicest, but I haven't been anywhere near as bad as you have. Most of the time when I'm being rude to you I'm only joking." Tyson smiled slightly.

"How do you know that I'm not joking too?" He asked, and I laughed harshly once again.

"It's pretty obvious. I can see it in your eyes. I'm actually trying to at least be friends with you, but you're not." I said, letting out a puff of air to push the hair out of my eyes. "I thought that we should at least get along since we're not only going to be married, but also since we're going to be ruling most of the seas together."

"You're right." He said, taking a step back from me.

"I know I am, and we need to figure this out. We can't go on acting like this. If we do, we'll both be miserable. We've got to reach some kind of agreement." I said, frowning as Tyson took a few more steps back.

"I've got to take some time to think." He said, turning around and fleeing the room so fast that I swore he was actually running. I turned and followed him quickly, but he was already shutting the dividing door between our rooms. I tried to push the door open, but Tyson must have been pushing against it since he didn't have a lock on his side of the door.

"Tyson! Let me in!" I yelled, pounding my fists on the door and continuing to push against it.

"No! I said that I need time to think so let me have it!" He yelled back, sounding almost pained. I kind of hoped it was because I was pushing on the door hard enough, but I seriously doubted it.

"Have your stupid time to think! I just want to eat!" I yelled, my stomach growling in agreement.

"You'll be ok for a little while." Tyson replied, his voice sounding farther away. I pushed against the door again and heard the creaking of a chair.

"You've got to be kidding me!" I exclaimed, beating my head against the door and silently cursing Pierce and Brooke. It was their fault for getting me into this whole mess. Well, not the whole mess since a pretty huge part of it was my fathers. I couldn't dwell on that though, not when I had other things that I needed to work on first.

My next goal of the day: getting to eat. The only was I was going to get to do that was after I got Tyson out of his room. The problem was, I had no idea how to do that without making him hate me even more.
