Chapter 13
“I’m just gonna jump right in here. Can we be friends or not? Like Brooke said, we’re going to have to work together if we want to be good rulers. I know we’re not going to fall in love or anything, but we can at least get along.” I said all in one breath. He looked confused for a moment as he took in what I said.
“I’m sorry about how I acted earlier Princess. I can’t say that it won’t happen again, but I can say that I’ll try. I do want to at least get along and try to be friends. I don’t want to spend the rest of my life with someone that I hate.” He said with a slight smile. Then he smirked. “Besides, one day we’ll have to produce an heir. We have to at least be friends in order to do that.”
My eyes widened and I blushed. “T-that’s good. I-I mean, about the friendship!” I said loudly. “Not the other! So, um, night?” I asked quickly, trying to get out of there fast.
Tyson chuckled. “Goodnight Princess.” With his words, I quickly retreated back to my bedroom and shut the door.
I couldn’t believe that he said that! Plus my reaction How could I have been more embarrassing? But we just decided to be friends and he mentioned having kids? Who does that? Prince Tyson Dorsel does apparently!
I stayed up for another hour or so just thinking. I thought about everything that had happened in the last two days. I also thought about what would happen in the next two months, and beyond. Hopefully Tyson and I could at least stay friends. I doubted that it would ever grow to anything more though. Doubted it? I was sure of it!
The next day, the four of us piled into cars and drove to the supermarket. We were armed with credit cards and check books with our names on them that I’d found in the study. We also had drivers licenses, since they would be needed to drive. After searching the kitchen and finding no food whatsoever, we decided to take the cars so we could get some food to stock up. Both cars were only two-seater sports cars, and they didn’t have a big trunk.
Since we had no food back home, we had to eat breakfast at a diner before shopping. When we did get to the store, we discovered that our princes had no idea how to cook, or what to buy for that matter. Thankfully Brooke and I had been sneaking into the kitchen at a young age, and we’d gotten the cook to give us secret lessons. Of course, we’d never imagined that we’d actually need them. It did help a lot as we went through the store making the guys each push a cart. As we went down the aisles, we would toss various things into the carts for random meals. The guys just watched silently and followed behind.
By the time we finally thought we had enough food, both of our carts were full. When we pushed them to the check out, we got some really strange looks. Especially since we’re so young. It couldn’t be really normal for four teens to buy two carts full of groceries. They probably thought that it was even weirder when we paid for it with a credit card. Or when we loaded it all into two sports cars.
After we took the groceries home and put them away, Brooke and I decided that we didn’t want to cook. Instead, we found the little café we’d first met Pierce at. Of course, we had the same waiter as before. This time though, he seemed just a tad less rude than before. We were happy to notice that the food was just as amazing as before.
After lunch, Brooke and I dragged the guys to a mall to go shopping for some clothes and necessities. I wasn’t normally one to need a lot of clothes, but we all needed some more mainland clothes. We wanted to fit in here, not stand out. That could be very bad, especially if we had the wrong clothes. I forced the guys to each buy a few more outfits.
Finally we arrived back home, tired from our day of shopping. Brooke and I decided that we wanted to wind down and relax. To do that, we wanted to check out the pool. So once we put our clothes away, we tossed on some swimsuits and headed outside.
