Dylan and I eat dinner in silence but holding hands, knowing what would come. I manage to eat a few bites of my baked chicken and potatoes but I've mainly lost my appetite. The thought of confronting Dr. Mason tomorrow makes me cringe. There's no telling what will happe-
My thoughts were interrupted by Fel shrieking excitedly as she came rushing up to the table with Brian attached to the side of her arm. It's kind of weird to talk to her after reading her file. I think that they wrongly accused her of having split personalities. Sure, she's a little crazy but I highly doubt that she has split personalities. She sits at the seat in front of me and sets her hand down on top of mine. Grinning, she points to
her hand over and over until I finally look down and notice a ring on her finger.
"You're engaged?!" I say excitedy. "YES!!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT MYSELF!! BRIAN AND I WERE IN THE POOL AND I DOVE UNDER AND WHEN I CAME BACK UP, HE WAS HOLDING A RING!!" She throws her arms around Brian, still grinning. "I'M SO HAPPY!!" She says, pointing out the clear obvious.
I studied the ring. It was flawless. An easily seen, 8 carat diamond was sitting in the middle, gleaming. "Where exactly did you get a ring?" I ask Brian. "I've had it since before I came here. I've been trying to find the perfect moment but I realized that you don't find it. You make it!" he says, grinning broadly. "And they let you keep it when you entered the hospital?" I asked him. "I begged the guy to let me keep it and I told them it was for her. I was surprised when he let me keep it too!" Their enthusiam was easily caught. Little did I know, we'd all need an escape plan in the morning.
