Her eyes move right and left as she crosses the street with huge, golly strides that mark her adventurous self. Usually the streets at least have some kids running around to play or something, but tonight it's completely empty.
Even if it's as dark as hell, Soojung spots the fence separating the two nations straight away. There's a whole "building" right there, where she can see some guards standing there ever so still with their hands at their sides.
"Yeah! Maybe I should go a little closer and see if there's any guards so I can jump it... hehe." She whispers, quietly sprinting across the field to the back of a tree. Out of a whole few acres of plain fields of grass and hills, there's only a couple trees that stand in it.
Usually when Soojung finds a new landmark, she marks it off her bucket list by taking a selca (selfie) "with" the landmark and adds it to her photo album. To continue her own tradition, she pulls her phone out and cautiously checks if the flash is on.
After checking that everything is in place, Soojung walks just slightly away from the tree with her back to the fence.
She threads her fingers through her hair and lets it fall back to her side. A small smile smears across her face and– CLICK!– she takes a selfie.
"Hey, who's there?!"
Soojung whips around to see a guard about twenty feet away from her, literally flying across the field to where she's standing. As if a demon is chasing her, Soojung turns around and runs for her life.
"Hey, stop right there!" The guard, who has a young voice, yells and runs even fast. By the millisecond, he gains so much momentum that he almost catches up to her within seconds.
"Aish... is this guy some track-and-field runner?!" She keeps on running. All she can think about is being detained by these N. Korean mutts and if she makes it back home, she'll get in so much trouble with her parents and especially the S. Korean government.
His hand touches her shoulder and has the nerve to shove her onto the ground, causing her to fly about 3 feet into the air. Her tennis shoes skip over a few rocks and tall grasses like that's what they were mad to do. Soojung falls straight hard onto the ground chest first.
Ouch.
"Aish... who knew girls run so fast." Jongin swears under his breath and grabs the girl by waist. He wraps his left arm around her waist and slaps his hands over her mouth. Of course, she's by now screaming her guts out and flailing her limbs like a monkey.
"God damn it..." he struggles to pull her onto her own feet, "this girl is as strong as steel."
Soojung gives him a hard jab into the chest with her elbow because of the perfect position: she's facing away from him.
"If you're going to keep fighting me, go ahead. I was trained to deal with kind of crap." Jongin tells her without even caring about how loud he's saying it. It's not like the nearest house is right next to the fence.
Still keeping his right hand on her mouth, he tightens his arm around her neck to almost the max and gives it a pretty slick pull to the side, causing her to go unconscious. The world in her eyes darken as she falls straight into his arm, her phone falling to the ground.
Jongin looks down at her pale face, not daring to touch it. He's never, ever been able to be so close to a female about his age like this. It's not like he doesn't want to; his boss is just so cruel about it.
"Jongin, you don't need a girlfriend right now. Just focus on your work right now and bring me a gorgeous one when you find one." Kim Jong Un told him just about a year ago.
"I mean, you are pretty..." he scoops her up into his arms and begins to walk up the hill towards the fence's headquarters.
The phone still lays in the warm grass, completely abandoned by it's owner.
