Ch 15: Waiting for what exactly?

"You did alright." Mitch says as we start to trot off home.

"Alright? I saw your eyes light up when i started the fourth attempt." I say as i hit him lightly in the shoulder.

"I was just surprised since you had an absolute shocker of a first, second and third attempt." Mitch says as we canter our way to the driveway of the house.

We both unsaddle in the stables and Mitch quickly feeds all the horses (so Meako, Star, Cruize and Texas) and then we walk to the front door. As we go to open the door, it slams into my face and on the other side of sturdy wooden door is no other than Amber and Damon. The dynamic duo.

"Dakota? Im sorry." Damon says as Amber and Mitch laugh while i place my hand on my forehead.

"Its alright really but where are you two off to?" I ask as Amber wipes away her tears of laughter.

"Well we have decided to see how Texas is going and if he still likes me." Amber says as Damon places an arm around her hip and pulls her close.

"Alright well be careful." I say as Amber raises his eyebrows.

"Well don't worry about me because you have other things to worry about." Amber says as Damon laughs quietly to himself.

"Like what exactly?" I say as Damon looks at me with surprise.

"Tonight's the big night. You know Nate?" Damon says as i have a lightbulb moment.

"Oh yeah thats right." I say as i take my hand off of my forehead.

"Well Nate left a little while ago and he will be here to pick you up in about half an hour." Amber says as i bolt inside leaving Mitch, Amber and Damon standing there with blank faces.

As i run to the stairs, i notice Travis and Caitlan in the lounge room kissing. I stop and just watch with wide eyes as Travis opens his eyes for a split second to see me and jumps to his feet.

"We uh-Caitl-i-"

"Just stop you don't need to explain and quite honestly i don't have time. Im happy for you two." I say as i bolt upstairs and see the present from Nate on my bed.

Its a big red box with a silver ribbon and bow on it. I walk up to it and take off the lid to reveal a card that says:

Dear Dakota,
I know you have got to be wondering what i have planned for you so instead of you stressing on how to dress and how to do your hair, i thought i could help.

I continue to look in the box and see a new pair of blue jeans and a black western hat along with a rose.

I jump straight to action as slip on the jeans and a white singlet with my black riding boots. I then run to the bathroom and quickly let out my long brown hair and put that hat on.

As i am adjusting my hair i notice that there is a shadow in the doorway. I jump and quickly turn to see that the shadow was only Eden.

"Calm down its only me." Eden says as she raises her arms in surrender.

"Sorry I'm just a little jumpy." I say as i walk towards her.

"Its understandable. You look really good by the way." Eden says as we both walk to my room and i grab a few things.

"Thanks. I actually owe you a special thanks because i wouldn't look like this if you hadn't of helped your brother." I say as we both walk downstairs and i hear a few knocks at the door.

"Well it looks like your chariot awaits so have fun." Eden says as we walk to the door.

"Thanks again." I say as i give her a hug and open the door to reveal Nate in blue jeans, white singlet and western boots.

"You look great." Nate says as takes my hand and i shut the door behind me.

"You don't look to bad yourself." I say as Nate stops and smiles.

"Uh what are we doing?" I ask as Nate turns his head and looks into my eyes.

"Waiting."

"Waiting for what exactly?"

"That." Nate says as i see Amber and Damon trotting towards us on two horse that seem familiar.

As they stop in front of us i realise that the horses are Dream and Kobe.

"Wow Dream i missed you." I say as i wrap my arms around him and hug him from under his neck.

"They came early." Amber says as her and Damon get off of Dream and Kobe.

"Yeah and these 2 fine horses are our transport for the night." Nate say as he gently grabs my arms but i bring him in for a hug.

"Oh umm well Damon and i are going back to Texas so you two have fun." Amber says as they both walk off quietly.

"Alright well its time to get going." Nate says as i let him go and he swiftly jumps into the saddle on Kobe.

"Oh it feels good to have my boy back." Nate says as he leans forward and pats Kobe at the top of his neck.

"Oh yeah i know how you feel." I say as i jump into the saddle on Dream.

"You obviously have missed Dream." Nate says as he places his hand on my leg since both horses are next to each other.

"Yeah. He's my big boy." I say as Nate grabs hold of his reins and we both start walking out of the yard.

As we walk i cant help but smile and blush. Nate keeps on looking at me with a cute smile and makes it 100 times worse.

I wonder whats going on and how this is going to turn out.
