I laid on the couch with Orion, mine and Max's daughter Josephine at tonight's game, along with Max. I caught a cold, so I decided to stay home and Max took Josephine to the WAG box at the game. Once the clock hit 7 o'clock, I grabbed a blanket and went to straight to the couch to watch tonight's game against the Kings. Everyone went to the ice for warm ups, Max stumbling out there last. I didn't think too much of it, just figuring he was tired or tripped. During the game, I cheered with Orion. I always had to watch games with Orion, seeing he was Max's diabetes watch dog. About 5 minutes into the 1st period, Orion started pawing at my leg, growling at the tv. "Orion, shh! I'm trying to watch the game!" He started barking louder and louder. "Orion! What's wrong with the game?" I asked the dog. "Oh, my god." I said frantically realizing why Orion had been barking. I kissed Orion on the head, picking up my converse and grabbing one of Max's old "London Knights Hockey" sweatshirts. I grabbed my keys and yelled bye to Orion, racing to Gila River Arena. I turned on the radio station playing the game. "We just received note that Max Domi has left the game and will not return." one announcer said. "That's weird. I didn't see him get hurt." another one said. My breaths started to get ragged as I finally pulled up to the arena. I ran out and ran immediately to the locker room, busting my way through the door and making eye contact with Max. I watched as one of the team doctors took his sugar level, showing me that it was significantly low. I gasped as tears started to flow down my cheeks. "Maxi. You could have died out there." I told him, tears falling down my face. "I'm okay baby. Their giving me stuff to help get my sugars up. I'll be okay. Come 'ere." he told me and I ran over, engulfing him in my arms. I cried onto his shoulder as he whispered sweet nothings in my ear, rubbing my back and softly kissing my forehead. "Maxi don't ever do that to me again." I told him and he smiled. "I'll try." he promised me. "Promise?" I asked. "Promise." he said and stuck out his pinkie for my to wrap my pinkie around which I immediately did. "Alright Max, you won't return to the ice tonight just to be safe but you can play in the next game." the doctor told us. I nodded and opened my mouth to say thank you, but Max had already done so. "Thank you so much, Doctor." he said and walked towards me, grabbing my hand and walking towards the door, coming out. We walked to the WAG box to get Josephine, and walked to the car, Max swinging our hands back and forth slowly, Josephine in my other arm. When we got to the car, Max opened my door smiling and I gave him a kiss on the cheek as a thank you and sat in my seat. He strapped Josephine into her car seat and then got into the car and grabbed my hand, his other hand on the steering wheel intently watching the road in front of him. He looked up at me and saw the thinking expression on my face. "What's wrong, my love?" he asked me, rubbing his thumb soothingly across my thumb. "I'm just scared. What if that happens again, and your on the road? I wouldn't be able to come and I wouldn't be able to know what's wrong. I just want you to be okay." I got out, tears starting to fall down my face. Max pulled into a gas station parking lot and got out of the car, coming to my side and opening the door, pulling him into me. "I'm okay, Y/N. I'll be okay baby, I promise. If something does happen, we have great doctors, and I'm sure someone would call you. Your my wife, baby. I don't want you to ever worry about me. I love you so much." he told me, kissing me on the forehead. "I love you, sweetie. Always have and always will."
sorry my endings always suck, I can never come up with a good one.
