"Bet you think I'm sittin at home; nah. Bet you think that I'm all alone; nah. Bet you think I'm missing you and wishing you would call my phone; hell nah."
Dierks Bentley blasted throughout the beach as me and the whole team played volleyball. I had just won the Hobey Baker trophy, so Michael took the whole team out to celebrate at his beach house in Cape Cod for the weekend. He said it would help clear my brain. I had just gone through a nasty breakup with my long time girlfriend, Alisha. We were all enjoying the sunshine, playing some beach volleyball when all of the sudden, Dierks gets cut off. "Hey, who shut off Dierks?" Alex Kerfoot yelled. I looked around to see who was standing by our speaker, and saw a small girl. Not like young small, but like short small. She couldn't have been more than 5 foot, but man she was captivating me. Her long hair was pulled up tight into a bun, a pair of aviators sitting on top of her head. She was wearing a mostly pink strapless triangl bikini, with a little bit of orange above the black lines. There was a zipper in the middle, and the bottoms were the same pink color. She was probably one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen in my life. Her tan body was on full display, her belly button piercing dangling from her stomach. "Can I help you?" Kyle asked her. "I'm trying to read my book and your music is very loud." She accused, putting her hands on her hips. "Well baby girl, this kid over here just won the Hobey Baker award, and you are interrupting our fun time." Michael retorted pointing into my direction. She spun on her heels, turning to look at me. "Please, don't ever call me baby girl again. Only my dad, and..." she looked around and then pointed at me. "He can call me baby girl too. I feel like I would be okay with that." she winked at me. "Well then baby girl, how about you say we go get some dinner at that restaurant over there." I pointed in the direction of a restaurant and she nodded, blushing. I grabbed her hand and waved at the boys, all of them staring with their jaws dropped. "Enjoying the view?" She yelled behind her as we walked away, making me chuckle. "I think it's funny that I agreed to go to dinner with you and you don't even know my name, and vice versa." She observed and I nodded. "My apologies, I'm Jimmy." I told her, sticking my hand out to her and I grasped her much smaller hand, shaking it and then releasing it. "I'm Y/N." She said, smiling. We arrived at the restaurant and I opened the door for her and she gave me a smile and a nod as a thank you. I walked up to the hostess and told her we needed a table for 2. She smiled and guided us towards the table with the view of the ocean. We sat down and the smile on the beautiful girl in the front of me's face mesmerized me more than the ocean view ever could. "Jimmy, it's breathtaking." She grinned and grabbed my hand, squeezing it. She set our hands on the table and stared out at the Cape Cod sunset. She turned around and looked at me. "How did you know?" She questioned and I smiled. "4 years in this place really helps you know where all of the good stuff is." I smiled at her. A waiter came by and told us his name was Marco, and then asked us what we wanted to drink. "I'll just have water please." She squeaked quietly and he nodded, writing down her order and turning to me. "Oh, I'll just have the same as her." I told the water and he nodded, walking away. "Tell me about yourself." We both said in unison and started laughing, earning stares and some glares from the other customers. "You first." I gave her the nod and she started. "I'm a junior at Boston University, I'm studying to be a vet, and if that doesn't work out, I want to be a dog groomer. I don't know what I want to do really, but I know it's going to be with dogs. I am the world's biggest dog lover, probably. I have 3 dogs at home, one named Brady after well, I think you can guess, Tom Brady. The second one is named Bergy after well you guessed it again; Patrice Bergeron. And the other one is Xander, for well, Xander Bogaerts. I'm a huge sports fan, and I'm actually really close friends with Jack Eichel. We were close in college and then he became in the big dog in the NHL. We still talk, just not as often. I'm on the Boston University volleyball team, where I play libero. And I'm the youngest of 6. I have 2 sisters, Marissa and Mia, and then 3 brothers, Tyler, Marcus, and Nash. We had 4 dogs growing up too. It's safe to say that we all share the same love for sports. Tell me more about yourself." She gave me the go ahead to talk. "Well, I'm Jimmy obviously. I have a brother Nolan, who got drafted to the Leafs. My dad is a scout for them. I'm captain on the Harvard University hockey team, was drafted to the Nashville Predators in the 2012 draft, 66th overall, and I just won the Hobey Baker trophy. Also, I turned down an opportunity to play on the Predators to finish the season at Harvard." I explained. She stared at me for a second, and then it hit her. "I'm out to dinner, with Jimmy Vesey?" She asked, stunned and I chuckled, nodding. "That's me." We enjoyed the rest of our dinner and we didn't even realize how late it was until our waiter told us they were closing in 10 minutes. We paid the bill and then left hand and hand. We were just walking, enjoying each other's company when she gasped. "What? Is something wrong?" I asked frantically. "I left my book!" She yelled, starting to run around the beach. "Babe, come here." I motioned her back over and she walked back slowly. "What?" She asked. I brought her closer to me, our foreheads touching and I smiled. "I'll buy you a new book but right now, just kiss me."
