Makeup? Check. Hair? Check. Outfit? Check. Confidence? Ehhhh... Meeting your boyfriend's parents is intimidating, but meeting his teammates is almost scarier. Of course, I want them to like me. But it's not like I know if they are or not. Just on cue, like he knew I was feeling down on myself, my boyfriend of a year and a half walks into our room, "Hey baby, are you" he stops for a second and his eyes scan my body up and down. I glance at the ground, suddenly feeling insecure. He walks over and places 2 fingers under my chin, lifting up my head and resting his forehead against mine. "You look, absolutely incredible." He tells me and I smile, blushing. "Stop." I giggle and he kisses my lips. I looked in the mirror at what I was wearing. It was pretty nice out, almost 60, so I decided to wear a dress. The dress I had on was a long sleeved, light purple, sort of burgundy/maroon color with large white roses scattered around the dress. It was about midthigh, and made my normally tan, already summer tan starting skin look incredible. My hair was in slight waves all the way down to the bottom, and I was sporting a beautiful ring that Ben had bought me for our one year anniversary about 6 or so months ago. It was not a full ring, with a little bit of space in between the 2 pieces. It was gold, and there was 2 parts of the ring, one was a moon, and one was a star. I kept my makeup pretty simple, with just some brown eye shadow with a little bit of sparkly gold grazed on top, a little bit of mascara, and some foundation to cover up anything that was on my face that I didn't want there. "What shoes should I wear? My tan strappy heels, or my gold sparkly sandals?" I asked him and he thought for a second. "Heels. Then maybe you'll be up to my shoulders instead of my elbows!" He joked and I slapped his chest. "Shut up." I groaned at him. I backed up and sat down on our bed. I knew he was just messing with me, but I was feeling insecure. "What's wrong love? Something on your mind?" He asked and I sighed. "It's just I'm feeling down on myself. I feel like the team and all the other girlfriends are gonna hate me. All the other girlfriends and wives are probably successful people, and like models or something and I'm just me. I'm an average college student, studying at the Art Institute of Vancouver, making little money at a bookstore in town. They're gonna think I'm with you for the money. "Sweetheart, please. If they're petty enough to believe that you're in it for the money, they are lame excuses of a human being. I love you and I know you love me for me. I don't care how much money you make. I don't care what they think. I love you and at the end of the day, that's all that really matters." He smiled at me and I wiped a stray tear. "Thank you baby. I needed that." I thanked him and he reached over and kissed me on the head. He walked to the closet and grabbed my strappy tan heels, bending down next to me and putting them on. He helped me up when eh was done and grabbed my clutch off of the dresser, closing the door to our room and walking downstairs. We got into the car and drove to the restaurant. After about 20 minutes, we arrived. Ben ran to my side to open the car door. He outstretched a hand and grabbed mine, kissing the top of my hand and helping me get down. I gave him a smile as a thank you and we walked into the restaurant. "Ben! Y/N! Over here!" Jake yelled and we walked over to the table, hands still locked with each others. "Y/N/N, you know Jake." Ben said and I smiled at Jake and reached my arms out to bring him into a hug. "Hey sister!" He squeezed my small body and I smiled. Lots of other teammates came up to me and introduced themselves, but one in particular stood out to me. He had dark, tan skin and dark brown hair and his eyes could burn holes in my body. His eyes were considerably low, and I was considering yelling "my eyes are up here," but decided against it. "Who's that?" I whispered to Jake, deciding not to ask Ben because if he saw the way that man was looking at me he would absolutely lose it. "Bo Horvat. I assume you're not a big fan of the way he's looking at you. It's okay, me neither." Jake said and I nodded. "Ya. My eyes are up here." I rolled my eyes and he laughed. "Uh oh, he's coming over." He said and I groaned internally. "I just wanted to introduce myself, I'm Bo, and you're beautiful." He said and I gave him a small smile. "I'm Y/N." I said sticking out my hand for him to shake. Just then, I felt an all too familiar pair of arms wrap around my waist and I leaned back, resting my head on his shoulder. "Hi beautiful." He said and I smiled, stretching up to kiss his jaw. "Oh, your Hutts' girl huh?" He asked, clearly annoyed and I nodded. "All mine." Ben said and kissed me. He nodded and walked away. "What was that about?" He asked and I sighed. "Well, the team liked me. Apparently, Bo really like me." I laughed and he smirked. "Well it's a good thing you're mine then, eh?" He laughed and I smiled. "Always. I love you." I kissed him. "I know." He smirked and I hit his chest. "Stop. As much as I love you, I could live without your sarcasm." I told him and he chuckled. "You love my sarcasm and I love you." He pulled his phone out and put it on me. "Man, look at you. I'm so lucky to be in love with a goddess." He opened up snapchat and put on the cool filter thingies. He put the crown filter on me and I laughed. "Now you really are a princess, not just mine."
I have nothing against Bo, it was purely for the idea! I'm sure he's a great guy and I hope he wouldn't act like this but this was all for the story :)
